Where is the engine vin number , one for engine, not auto, on new Chevy factory 503 engine just installed in my 2000 Silverado truck.
Looked on entire while crawled under truck.internetandauto tell me all different answer.don't want original engine number but the new engine number on new engine I installed 503 Chevy.
Re: Where is the engine vin number , one for engine, not...
Contact the manufacturer factory for this one as they may not stamp the number until sold. I faced this problem on a brand new still in the box v8 engine from international factory and to get around it I just stamped the old engine number on the block and ground the number of the old block

ask chevy maker for the fits list
or ask any transmission repair shops for the list.

EXAMPLES ,NOT SAYING IT IS YOURS, ONLY CAN BE.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If you have no luck finding it on the internet, you can call the dealership to get it. You will need your VIN number to do so. Some dealerships require you to see them personally. They can get you your code though. There are so many different codes for these vehicles. Just because it is the same vehicle and engine, doesn't mean it has the same code. Best of luck and thanks for choosing FixYa.
got a clutch pedal in there? If auto, it could be a 700r4 or some variation of that. You can likely get exact info from a dealer if you give them the vin #.
if it is the fuel level sending unit you will have to replace the pump because they are a 1 piece assambly. it will be a task to change too as you will need to either remove the truck bed or drop the fuel tank to get to it.
