I can buy a new sensor to replace the whole thing but don't want to remove the dash to get to it. I just need the plastic cap to get it to work
The last one I did I took the glove box out to gain limited access to area where the sensor is located. I disconnected the old one and fed the wire connector up through the hole. I connected a new one on top the dash, fed the wire connector back down through the hole and set the new sensor on top the hole. It worked. It's the only solution I could come up with without removing the dash.
You could go to a automotive salvage yard .
