post the symptoms. (no start but cranks fine?) what?
the relay only closes cranking. and may not if no spark,
spark is first, after fuse checks.
it (relay) is only a question, if?
1: fuel pressure is zero.
2: pump is silent while cranking.
if you have spark on all cylinders
and the fuel pressure is zero cranking
or the pump has 0v not 12v cranking
then we can show you where the relay is.
or go to alldata.com and see it for self.

It is located in the relay box behind the lower dash under the steering
wheel, in alignment with drivers right knee. (right hand drive) You
have to remove the screws that hold the panel on and take panel right
off. If you remove fuse box cover, look behind and you can see them.
Fuse box cover is on the end of the dash board. Hope this helps
I'm answering my own question here. It's located behind the
hazard lights switch. You have to pop out the old one with a flathead
screw driver. Remove it and simply place the new one on. You might need
some needle nose plires to pull the actual relay out and also to pull
out the connecting end. You might have to play with it for a lil while
but it should come completely out. If you still have a hard time just
take out the glove box and reach around the tight spots until you reel
for thr cords on the connecting end. I did all this in about 30 minutes
and saved a lil over 100 dollars. The relay itself cost about 26
dollars at the vw dealership.
your rear AIR-SUSPENSION bag is leaking or pump not working....most of the time it's the relay located under thr RF fender toward the front...with a 3-wire connector connected to it....hope this helps you...GL
