Another american invention bells and bleepers that drive me insane when repairing cars and the door is open dong dong dong ,fixing the lights ring ring ring ,key in ignition bong bong bong .look in the fuse /relay box inside the car and thier you should find the annoying little speaker thingy pluged into here and it normally looks like a relay with speaker holes on the side .
Most likely: The "Bendix" or over-running clutch is bad. This part is found at the Inside end of the starter, inside the taransmission bell-housing where you cannot seeit. If you were to take the starter out of the cark youo would see it. Or, you can look at anoother starter off most any car anddn ssee eone. The end of the stsarter tahat goes into the bell housiing is an aluminum sort of cup shaped piece, with a hole in it to allow the gear insied to engage the ring gear on the tor
You need to determine which side is causing the problem and test that door switch ( usually on the door jamb, either hinge or latch side deoe4nding on model) Find the door stitch and push in on the switch fully by hand. Does the bell stop? if not, then your door switch is likely faulty and you'll need to replace it - a quick fix would be to dismount switch from vehicle and unplug. At this point, if the switch is bad the bell should stop. Make sure to tape the plug ends so they cannot short out against the body. I would also recommend tying a small string to the end before you cover the connection and securing the other end to the hinge ( tie it on or tape it) so you can retrieve the wires to reconnect the new door switch. Hope this helps!!
Regardless of engine orientation, the starter will always be at the junction of the transmission bell-housing and the engine block.
It drives the flywheel (it has a ring gear) that is located at the output end of the crankshaft and is normally bolted to the bell-housing.
If you plan on DIY repairs, I recommend buying an aftermarket service manual.
I like Haynes best and these are available on line, eBay, or at auto parts chain stores:
LeSabre manual
It's the best $25 you can spend.
Sounds silly but this is how i fixed my bell ringing. !st the ringing is the alarm when you open the door and the key is in the ignition or the car is running. I found the push switches that are on the side of the car and are operated when the door is shut have become loose. All you need to do is tighten them up a bit and the bell ringing will stop. When you make your right turn you probably push a bit on the door and that helps open the switch more. The switches are the contact switches that turn on the light as well as the warning sensors for open door. See if your dome lights flicker a bit as well.
It sounds like the sensor in the latch is faulty or the wiring leading to the latch is bad. The sensor will be located inside the latch assembly. You'll have to pry the cover off to get to it.
is there any type of check engine light on or any type of warning light is the sound of the bell the same bell sound when you open your door or seatbelt warning
