Depends also on the kind of tyre.
For the maximum load of tyre nex kinds need next pressure , wich is called AT-pressure/maxloadpressure/reference-pressure , for up to maximum speed of tyre or if lower 160km/99m/h. This is not the maximum pressure of tyre.
Normal car tyre /standardload AT 2.5bar/36psi ( exeptions as low as 2.2)
XL/Reinforced/Extraload AT 2.9bar/42psi ( exeptions 2.8 and 3.0)
6PR( plyrating) /C-load AT 3.8bar/55psi EUR ( USA 50psi/3.4bar)
8PR/D-load AT 4.5/4.8 bar/ 65/69/70 psi
From E -load is not often used in Europe.
From this AT pressure you can calculate the needed pressure for lower loads . Made spreadsheet for it in wich I first add 10% to the assumed load before calculating.
Will give example picture
You must have very fresh license... brand of caravan have nothing to do with tire pressure! it's weight and speed of towing do.
recommended tire pressure is permanently impressed on every tire in existence, it is a law in most countries. go outside - bend and read all small print on your tires, sometime is helpful if you wipe tire with damp cloth to increase contrast, it will say something like:
"inflate to 50PSI (350kPa)" - or "max. pressure 350kPa (50PSI)"
kpa and psi are pressure units and this will clearly indicate what pressure this particular tire will handle, sometime this will be accompany with additional information about maximum speed or maximum load or both.
The correct tyre pressure should be listed in the handbook or manual of your caravan. If you cannot find this, contact a dealer and they should be able to tell you the correct pressure for your particular tyres.
When the manufacturer's recommended tyre pressure is not available you can use the following formula to give a reasonable estimate. MTPLM is the Maximum Technically Permitted Laden Mass.
(MTPLM in Kg x Max tyre pressure in psi)/(Max tyre load Kg x Number of wheels) = Running tyre pressure in psi
As an example; a single axle (two tyres) with a max tyre press of 65psi, a max tyre load of 650kg and a MTPLM of 1000kg.
1000kg x (65psi/(650kg x 2)) = 50psi
This formula is just a guide and shouldn't be used if you have the information from your manufacturer available.
