This all happen after dead battery change out. Battery was 5yrs old temps dropped into the teens.
SOURCE: radio works, but no sound ?
If you slide a CD inside, change the display from clock to CD counter and you can see the numbers go up meaning the CD is playing and there is no sound at all. There are a couple of things that could be responsible; The volume control could be intermitent. in this case tweeking the control back and fourth, fast and slow, push and pull should atleast make some kind of noice on the speakers.
I'm assuming the mute is not on since turning the unit off and back on will settle that. I know the fuse is not the problem because the CD will not play if the fuse was bad. I will have a professional check the audio output IC(s).
SOURCE: Radio won't turn on, buttons
Despite the fuse being ok and the power going into the radio or even the unit being on but not playing CD or giving any volume it seems like the units main control board is burned, if you can remove it and take it to a auto electrician top check it you will know straight away what's wrong. as your car being 10 years old I assume it is still the original unit mounted by the car manufacturer and 10 years would be a good enough time for it to stop operating.
SOURCE: battery good power to the starter 2000 ford
#1 Try starting the car in Neutral, if no start replace the Park and Neutral safty switch. #2 Check for a faulty starter solenoid. #3 Check for a faulty stsrter motor. #4 Check for a faulty ignition switch. #5 Check for faulty starter Relays.#6 Check the Transmission Range sensor it could be out of adjustment or defective. #7 On 1998 and later models, the power relay is in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. Refer to your owners manual for more information on relay location. Good Luck From Ernie @ RedDeer, Alberta, Canada.
