I have done one on a 1994 Astro, but this video shows a different set of circumstances. I have also linked a reliable parts source that I have used for years.

GM transfer cases have a tag on them for what model they are. If same model on both tags they should be identical.

The drive trains are the same, difference is in the body .

gmc and chevy k1500 pickup and suburban years 95-99
k2500 pickup years 95-98
k2500 suburban 95-96
gmc k2500 and yukon 95-98

some chevys have an 202 or 203 transfercase.most commond in newer trucks is the 203 which is a gear to gear transfercase,203 is chain drve and very rare anymore,so ck and see which one you have,because their is a 205 gear driven,the most common problem with all transfercases is when they pop out of gear,is a bad shifting fork,or a bad pilot ,or through out bearing not putting pressure on gear.hope this is helpful.

They go from the bell housing to the transfercase.The one with the 2 holes on one end goes on the driverside.The end with the long spacer goes on the bottom bolt hole on the bell housing and the other end mounts to the transfer case right above the big electrical connector with the bolt in it.The other brace goes on the passengerside with the long spacer bolt hole on the bottom bellhousing bolt and the flat end with one bolt hole goes on the side of the transfercase.

Please ensure that this has gear oil because some of these actually ran regular dexron tranny fluid. If it is gear oil a standard 80w-90 is a good all grade gear oil to run in it.

just unplug and unscrew its threaded like a bolt
