SOURCE: 2002 Buick Rendezvous Error
I have had simlar issues. The first thing to try is to diconnect the positive lead from teh battery. Be careful as there are some issuesd surrounding OEM batteries in the 02. after about 30 secs reconnect the cable. This will "reset" your system and if it is just a glitch, the problem should be gone. If this does not fix the problem it is most likely your intrument cluster, however it can also be the BCM (Body Control Module). Have a dealer check it out for you. Before you buy a replacment part from the dealer chaeck out the prices at newgmparts.com or Rock Auto, both saved me 50% or more when I needed to have these items replaced.
SOURCE: car stalls
when the motor is idling the ESC (electronic spark control) module (also called ignition module) is responsible for the spark timing until the engine speed rises above 1500rpm when the PCM takes over. There is also a sensor behind the crankshaft pulley which sends a switching signal to the PCM & the ESC. Both of these are possible culprits. I suggest try an ESC (mounted underneath the three coils on left-hand side of the motor, and remmovable by removing the 6x7mm bolts holding down each of the coils and an 8mm bolt holding the electrical connector in ) from a junkyard from a know working car, if this does not solve your problem the crankshaft sensor is the next stop, To remove this you need to jack up the passenger side of the car and remove the front wheel, then remove the plastic cowling (being careful to unclip the cables from the cowling) using the 4x 7mm bolts at the top and side. When the pulley is in view remove the 24mm bolt holding the pulley on and the switch is behind it mounted on two 10mm bolts . good luck
SOURCE: 2000 buick lesabre stall after starting or after running for 30 minutes
I have a 1996 Lesabre. I had a similar problem that slowly got worse. I brought it to two different mechanics that did diagnostic checks and could only "suggest" what to replace to fix the problem. Their problem was that it wouldnt stall out while they had the mv. After replacing a bunch of sensors and the fuel pump/ filter, I solved the problem by replacing the Crank Sensor. Its located behind the lower crank pulley on the 3.8 lt motor. Hope this helps!
SOURCE: O2 sensors on 2002 buick rendezvous
hi im wes the o2 sensor is always in the exaust newer buicks have one before the converter (sometimes in the exaust manifold) one after the converter if it has duall exaust it could have four
left bank sensor one is before the converter on drivers side bank two sensor 2 would be passanger side after the converter does this help?
SOURCE: I have a 2000 buick lesabre. The fix engine soon
It NEVER was the camshaft sensor! Unless, you've removed the engine lately, which I doubt.
RUN to Advance Auto Parts and buy a can of "SeaFoam" and add to your gas tank per instructions...drive at least 100 miles and the problem should go away...IF it doesn't you'll have to replace the O2 sensors in the exhaust system...Any good mechanic should be able to do this for much less $$ than the dealership DO NOT go to the dealer for repairs!
Good Luck
