Engine, transmission or electrical problems will all do this. You need to have the codes scanned.

SOURCE: 2002 Buick Rendezvous Error

I have had simlar issues. The first thing to try is to diconnect the positive lead from teh battery. Be careful as there are some issuesd surrounding OEM batteries in the 02. after about 30 secs reconnect the cable. This will "reset" your system and if it is just a glitch, the problem should be gone. If this does not fix the problem it is most likely your intrument cluster, however it can also be the BCM (Body Control Module). Have a dealer check it out for you. Before you buy a replacment part from the dealer chaeck out the prices at newgmparts.com or Rock Auto, both saved me 50% or more when I needed to have these items replaced.

SOURCE: car stalls

when the motor is idling the ESC (electronic spark control) module (also called ignition module) is responsible for the spark timing until the engine speed rises above 1500rpm when the PCM takes over. There is also a sensor behind the crankshaft pulley which sends a switching signal to the PCM & the ESC. Both of these are possible culprits. I suggest try an ESC (mounted underneath the three coils on left-hand side of the motor, and remmovable by removing the 6x7mm bolts holding down each of the coils and an 8mm bolt holding the electrical connector in ) from a junkyard from a know working car, if this does not solve your problem the crankshaft sensor is the next stop, To remove this you need to jack up the passenger side of the car and remove the front wheel, then remove the plastic cowling (being careful to unclip the cables from the cowling) using the 4x 7mm bolts at the top and side. When the pulley is in view remove the 24mm bolt holding the pulley on and the switch is behind it mounted on two 10mm bolts . good luck

SOURCE: 2000 buick lesabre stall after starting or after running for 30 minutes

I have a 1996 Lesabre. I had a similar problem that slowly got worse. I brought it to two different mechanics that did diagnostic checks and could only "suggest" what to replace to fix the problem. Their problem was that it wouldnt stall out while they had the mv. After replacing a bunch of sensors and the fuel pump/ filter, I solved the problem by replacing the Crank Sensor. Its located behind the lower crank pulley on the 3.8 lt motor. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I have a 2000 buick lesabre. The fix engine soon

It NEVER was the camshaft sensor! Unless, you've removed the engine lately, which I doubt.
RUN to Advance Auto Parts and buy a can of "SeaFoam" and add to your gas tank per instructions...drive at least 100 miles and the problem should go away...IF it doesn't you'll have to replace the O2 sensors in the exhaust system...Any good mechanic should be able to do this for much less $$ than the dealership DO NOT go to the dealer for repairs!
Good Luck

2012 Buick Enclave, dash reads Traction control off, service stabilitrak. Engine power reduced... why????

Engine power reduced... is the main problem ,this turned off Traction control off, service stabilitrak. Your vehicle has electronic throttle control , The Gas pedal has sensors inside which are connected by electrical circuits to the PCM - engine computer ,the PCM use's these inputs to control the throttle plate by use of a 12 volt DC motor . Plus there are position sensors on the throttle body for feed back to the PCM. When one of these signals is off The PCM will put the system into reduced power mode . This will also set DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

2006 Buick rendezvous traction control alarm going off periodically and service traction control system soon lights turn on. Also lights indicate that my abs and parking brake have been disabled

Need to get the codes read. Probably a bad wheel speed sensor which will require a replacement wheel hub assembly. All of those systems rely on the wheel speed sensors to operate properly. The brake light is not indicating that the parking brake is disabked, rather that the is an issue with the braking system

Why did the reduced engine power and service traction light come on. The car can be started then looses power and stalls out.

When the check engine light comes on it disables other module features as a safety issue. The reduced engine power light is normally caused by a defective throttle actuator motor assembly. In some instances, it can also be caused by a defective gas pedal sensor as well. In my experience, the throttle actuator motor is the most common repair

2006 chevy impala traction control

Reduced power is a problem with electronic throttle contol . drive by wire . Do you know what this is ? Taking the vehicle an having it hooked up to diagnostic tool an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes is always a first step when trying to find the root cause of any trouble light ! And not auto zone , pep boys , or advance auto parts . Thier diagnostic tool will not check codes in all system control modules .

2002 Buick Rendezvous Service traction system and ABS lights, grinding when turning ans braking

The ABS and Service Traction system may be due to bad sensors or signal reaching the ABS/Traction Control computer. The grinding may be due to uneven or unsmooth rotors, and/or worn out pads or shoes.

I would recommend that the entire braking system be diagnosed at your local dealer or brake service facility.

Traction light on , reduce engine power lights on 07 ss impala what does that sound like .

I know this is not a solution but I too started having this same problem today. Start car, runs normal then all the sudden it feels funny, traction control light blinks on and dash displays service traction control-reduced engine power. This causes my car to sputter like it is going to stall I have to pull over and turn my car off and back on to drive off (only for it to do it within the next 10 minutes). I thought turning TC off would work for now just to drive it, no not successful stil does it : ( I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND HAD IT SCANNED HAD A CODE FOR GROSS EVAC LEAK AND SOMETHING ABOUT THE THROTTLE PLATE/BODY NOT SURE IF THAT IS RELATED BUT THAT ALL THE INFO I HAVE ON THAT.

The Service traction system, abs and anti lock warning lights keep coming on. I just had 2 oxygen sensors and a wheel hub unit put in. What could be causing this problem?

When the wheel hub was put back in did they omit to connect the wheel speed sensor? The ECU continuously monitors with sensors the speed of the wheel rotation and compares this with the transmission speed. Any disagreement due to wheel spin results in power redistribution to those wheels with traction. If all drive wheels spin and get out of sync with the transmission then the ECU limits the power output from the engine until traction is resumed. Likewise when braking a locked wheel has the brake pressure reduced until minor rotation is again resumed. A missing wheel sensor will cause a failure of both the traction control and the anti-lock braking system

Service Throttle Control

It sounds like these things are all related. When the a computer sees a problem in the Electronic throttle system, it will dissable traction control, and give the reduced engine power alert because the powertrain computer does not know the value of throttle postion.
Codes will need to be scanned in the computersto begin diagnosis.

2002 rendezvous

It is not recommended but you can disconnect the battery for an hour or so and the computer resets itself. If the problem is still there the check engine light will come back on after a short drive. The AWD light comes on when the tires have different pressures. I haven't seen the service traction light for quite some time on mine.
