Possible causes
- low transmission fluid level
- dirty transmission fluid
- faulty line pressure solenoid valve
- line pressure solenoid valve harness is open or shorted
- line pressure solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection

when the a transmission solenoid is stuck off, in most cases the problem is not the electrical part of the solenoid; the problem is foreign material obstructing the mechanical function of the solenoid or the flow of the fluid through the transmission valve body. if the transmission fluid is very dirty, it is recommend changing the transmission fluid and if possible removing the transmission pan for further diagnosis. excessive debris or metal particles on the transmission pan could be an indication that there is a transmission mechanical failure and that the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Where is P0877 automatic transmission fluid sensor located on a 2007 GMC Acaidia

DTC P0877: Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) Switch 4 Circuit Low Voltage

The transmission fluid pressure (TFP) switch 4 is part of the control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly and is not serviced separately. The TCM supplies 12 volts to the TFP switch 4 on the TFP switch 4 signal circuit; the TFP switch 4 has an internal case ground. TFP switch 4 is normally closed, Low. When oil pressure is present at the TFP switch 4, the switch is open, high. The normally low clutch pressure control (PC) solenoid 4-5 controls the transmission fluid to the 1-2-3-4 clutch. The TCM monitors the normally closed TFP switch 4 signal circuit to determine the 1-2-3-4 clutch status.
P0877
The TCM detects that the TFP switch 4 signal voltage remains low, 0 volts when the 1-2-3-4 clutch is commanded ON for 5.5 seconds or greater.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
• DTCs P0877 and P0878 are Type C DTCs.
• The TCM freezes transmission adaptive functions.

Circuit/System Testing
Ensure the TFT is near the temperature displayed in the Failure Records.
Start the engine and place the transmission range selector in D6.
Observe the TFP switch 4 parameter while commanding 4th gear and then commanding 5th gear with the scan tool. The TFP Switch 4 should transition from High in 4th gear to Low in 5th gear.
? If the TFP switch 4 parameter state does not change, perform the Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Inspection .
? If no concerns are found, replace the control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly.
Component Testing
Perform the Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Inspection .
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
Control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly replacement - refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Transmission when i accellerate it goes into 2nd gear and will not go back into drive untill i turn the engine off and restart

The auto governor or the settings in the gear box seems to be faulty as it fails to move the selector. Make sure that the transmission fluids were changed , and that there is no grinding noise. If there is any alignment issue with the selector , it must be reset after checking for PLAY.
If the fault seems to be consistent then the transmission gear box must be removed and checked before it can cause more damage.

I had a tranny gasket leak i changed it and about 2 days later engine light came on took it to the local auto parts and put the computer on it. he gave me the code P 1757 said it had something to do with...

Hope this can help:

P1757 Transmission control pressure not equal to target. (Zero pressure problem)

Theory of Operation
The Governor Pressure Control System is used to regulate the governor pressure which controls the shifts for first, second, and third gear. The Governor Pressure Control System test verifies that the requested pressure and the actual pressure are within a predetermined tolerance.

When Monitored:
While the engine is running and the gear selector is in the Drive position.

Set Condition:
This DTC will set if the monitored Governor Pressure is greater than 41.4 kPa (6 psi) for 5 seconds while the gear selector is in the Drive position with the road speed equal to zero - six times during a drive cycle. The transmission oil temperature must be between 23 - 88° C (73 - 190° F).

Possible Causes
OTHER TRANSMISSION DTC'S PRESENT
5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN
5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION
TRANSMISSION OIL BURNT OR OIL PAN HAS EXCESSIVE DEBRIS - INTERNAL TRANSMISSION DAMAGE
GOVERNOR PRESSURE SENSOR
GOVERNOR PRESSURE SOLENOID
VALVE BODY
ENGINE CONTROL MODULE 5 VOLT SUPPLY

OBD code P0746. Where is the Pressure Control

P0746 Pressure Control Solenoid Performance or Stuck Off
A transmission solenoid is an electro-hydraulic valve that controls fluid flow into and throughout an automatic transmission. Solenoids can be normally open or normally closed. They operate via a voltage or current supplied via the transmission computer or controller. Transmission solenoids are usually installed in a Transmission Valve body, Transmission Control Unit, Transmission Control Module or inside the Transmission and it helps regulate the pressure from the trans fluid pump.

P0446 Evaporative Emmission Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction

What does that mean?
Evap vent valve has only one purpose. It closes in order to seal the vent so the EVAP system can pressurize and ensure there are no leaks. Evap vent valve is usually supplied Batt. voltage with key on. The ECM's driver controls the ground, and when grounded, activates the valve (closing it). If the ECM detects a short to ground, and open,or a short to battery voltage on the control circuit, P0446 will set. Code also may refer to ECM detecting that EVAP system is unable to achieve or maintain vacuum during test.

Symptoms
There will be no obvious symptoms to driver, other than MIL illumination.

Causes
A code P0446 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty vent valve
* Open, short or excessive resistance on Vent valve control circuit
* Blockage of vent valve
* Bad PCM

Possible Solutions
With a P0446 OBD-II trouble code, here are some things to try:
* Replace Vent valve
* Repair open, short, or resistance problem in control circuit
* Repair open, or short, or resistance problem in power circuit
* Replace PCM

Hope this help (remember rated this post).

96 Ford Contour CD4E Auto Trans.

The item referred to needing adjustment in the previous reply is called the MLP (manual lever position sensor). It tells the computer electronically that the car is in P, R, N, D, 2,1 (depending on the gear selector) It also allows the car to only be started in P and N for safety.
If it is out of adjustment, the sensor is misaligned with it's reference point on the gear selector rod, which goes into the trans case and pushes/pulls a rod that moves the selector piston/valve. The valve will be in the right place but the computer will say other wise and it controls the shifting with the solenoids.
SOURCE INFO:
{MLP transaxle function: determion desired gear and electronic pressure control (EPC) pressure:
Symptoms: Harsh engagements and firm shift feel, engine may not crank, may downshift to a lower gear, 2nd or 3rd gear operation, transaxle not inicating the proper gear, no 4th gear operation. no manual first gear.}
Another point of interest is the EPC (electronic pressure control)solenoid inside the black side cover.
Failed OFF-maximum EPC pressure, harsh engagements and harsh shifts.

Another possible issue may just worn out clutches if the unit has high mileage or maybe verify fluid level and recent change of fluid. The filter is inside unit and trans has to be removed to change, some Hondas are like this too.
