if its a power mirror you have to remove the door panel and the upper plastic cover which looks like a triangle the bolts that hold the mirror on are behind that and the wires run behind the door panel
If you have a good relationship to the dealer you got the truck from, most of the time the parts person will give a copey of the wireing color codes and I am sure they'll be more then happy to give you pointer to make things easier.
