No body on the phone or internet can tell you a thing about any vehicle repairs without the vehicle
You need the vehicle at a repair shop in the hands of knowledgeable people with the factory reference material to study the systems with a fault & do some testing
Assuming you have right hand drive cougar, you can access the fuse box right under the glove box under dash. Use a torch and you will find a small pull down clip and when you pul it down it drops the whole fuse box. This is a common problem with Cougars. To my knowledge fuse is not the culprit, however its good to check. Most of the issues are related to ABS module. It is placed in the engine bay where it exposed to heavy vibrations (poor design) and some times the module will crack and sometimes it just electronic issue. Get the car scanned for fault codes and that will tell you what is the exact issue. If it turns out to be the ABS module you can get the module repaired if its not cracked or broken or buy a second hand one from wreckers if you can find one under $100 or $150. New one will cost a fortune. Let me know how you go, I can further assist in getting the module repaired, etc. FYI there is no need to remove or replace ABS unit if the ABS module is faulty. You dont need to touch it at all, just take out the ABS module (ECU).
Have you check both fuse boxes? The abs relay/fuse is in the fuse block under the hood in the engine compartment. It is located on the driver's side near the battery. It is labeled ABS. There is also an ABS/EVO solenoid. Hope this helps and good luck. Please let me know if you have any trouble finding it.
A blown fuse in the Maxi Fuse Relay section labeled ABS Motor or one next to it ABS Cntrl. I thnk that names. But ABS for sure. Thats what mine was. one or other. Big fuse 40 amp. Check all vacuum hoses and wire conections for check eng. Or go autozone they tell u for free
hey it's just behind the battery under the hood. In
you manual it will tell you excactly where its at. Just pop the cover
off and yu shoud see all the fuses there.
