Originally, the crankshaft bolt came out while I was driving it. It lossed timing in the process. I towed vehicle to shop. After the timing was set up. It started developing rough idling. I have changed O2 censor and EGR valve. New OE premium plugs. I have just changed IAC. thought that was the cause of the problem. Idle is rough and can not set to stable. Any setting of throttle cable and IAC would not help. Run very high. Gas economy is very poor. What could be the problem that is responsible for engine running rich. Thank you for your suggestions.
When the mechanical timing "slipped" the valve timing was affected. Valves can be bent if they strike a piston. Have a compression test performed on each cylinder. If the compression is low on any cylinder, likely the cause is a bent valve caused by the mis-timed engine. The cylinder head will have to be removed and the bent valves and valve guides replaced as part of a "valve job."
