My 1994 Honda Accord Lx running richemission: failed emission test.

Originally, the crankshaft bolt came out while I was driving it. It lossed timing in the process. I towed vehicle to shop. After the timing was set up. It started developing rough idling. I have changed O2 censor and EGR valve. New OE premium plugs. I have just changed IAC. thought that was the cause of the problem. Idle is rough and can not set to stable. Any setting of throttle cable and IAC would not help. Run very high. Gas economy is very poor. What could be the problem that is responsible for engine running rich. Thank you for your suggestions.

When the mechanical timing "slipped" the valve timing was affected. Valves can be bent if they strike a piston. Have a compression test performed on each cylinder. If the compression is low on any cylinder, likely the cause is a bent valve caused by the mis-timed engine. The cylinder head will have to be removed and the bent valves and valve guides replaced as part of a "valve job."

I have a 1994 honda accord lx that dies while I'm

More than likely this would be the ignition module or the ignition stator (AKA distributor pickup coil).

When a timing belt goes out on a 1994 Honda Accord LX I was told that this year of Honda it would damage the heads is this true?

Honda's have whats called an interference fit where the valves can contact the piston tops if the belt fails while the engine is running as when most failures occur, so I would say that it is true. Keep your timing belts changed at the recommended interval.

If you are getting a Check engine Light let me know, it will make things easier to diagnose.

1994 honda accord failed its emisions test.

i would say change the O2 sensors and a new cat ,these readings are well over the top ,could have a exhaust blow on exhaust as well which will throw out the O2 readings

MY 1992 HONDA ACCORD WON'T PASS THE EMISSIONS TEST

if it's slightly above the limit.. you could try putting in premium gas or an octane additive as that will lower your emissions slightly..

1991 Honda Accord LX failed emission test on smog test. High CO and HC on 25mph

not enough info. Typically, CO and HC together can be the result of poor fuel control or misfire, or worn components such as O2 sensor or catalytic converter, but without more data, repair recommendations are likely to waste money and not achieve success.

1991 honda accord lx getting bad gas milage

I have known when the distributor starts to go bad it will not fire 100%, that could cause your failure in good gas mileage!

Broke timing belt on 94 accord LX

Best thing to do is get a service manual, a Haynes manual has sufficient information for most service, including timing belt. Unfortunately, there is a good chance you have some bent valves because when the timing belt breaks, the pistons can hit the valves.
