93 dodge stealth i can run the car in the driveway for 1hour with no problems the fans working stays running at normal temperature when i go for a short drive 10 miles it starts running hot

depending on the engine temperature the fan is supposed to remain on after you turn the engine off, until the engine reaches a preset cooler temperature. when it reaches cooler temperature usually within 5 minutes or so it should cut off... if you cut it off and it is running 30 minutes later.. then there is a problem with the fan relay or temperature sending unit.
Hi have you checked al the intake hoses and hoses to and from the turbocharger? And it's also possible that the timing may be off has the timing belt been changed?
Good idea on the fans. Keep it that way till you fix the problem. Won't hurt anything, just may shorten fan life-but a new fan is much less expensive than a new engine. Watch the temp gauge on your dash. The thermostat should open as it warms up, before the gauge gets up to half-way. You can tell when the thermostat starts to open-the upper radiator hose will start feeling hot, or at least start warming up. You will get a rough idea if the thermostat is working properly. By the time engine is at normal operating temperature, the thermostat should be fully open and the hose will feel quite warm. If the hose is still cool when engine is at operating temp., the thermostat may be opening too late, as in wrong thermostat. Not very likely, but always possible. How did the shop check the head gaskets? Did they do a compression test? With new pump, new radiator, new hoses...should be good, but still runs hot? Any bubbling in your overflow tank? You may want to consider having a block test done, where they check for exhaust gases in the coolant. That would be a head gasket leak causing hot running condition. Maybe the shop checked the gaskets this way, or maybe they missed something? About the only other thing I could think of would be a coolant circulation problem inside the engine, a restriction or something, that an engine flush might clear up. A shop could do a reverse flush of the engine if there is a circulation problem. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress. Does your mechanic have any other suggestions?
either of these manufactures are good just install one with the manufactures recommended temperature rating,as the wrong temp range can change how the car will run.example gas mileage, running temperature, cooling fan operation etc.
The reason for replacing the thermostat is improper cooling - not heating. The purpose of the thermostat is to shut off the flow of coolant through the engine allowing the temperature to build. When it reaches the temperature it wants the thermostat opens and allows coolant to flow to maintain the proper temp. Dodge Caravans have a track record for maintaining a low temperature until the engine is at higher rpm. While it is inconvenient in cold weather it it not bad. However, you want to check that your radiator fan is shutting off when it is cold. A fan that is staying on when it shouldn't could cause the temp to stay cooler.
Look for the obvious first. Blown Fuse, Burned Fan Relay.
To test, disconnect the Fan plug in, run 1 x Pos. and 1 x Neg. of 12 or 14 gauge wire from the Battery, directly to the Fan Motor, and it should energise.
The Sensor for the Fan is on the Engine. This is a 2 contact threaded switch, which is Normally open, and make circuit contact copletion when the cooling system heats up, energising the Fan Motor.
This Fan should also operate when the A/c is in operation also, independent of the Coolant side.
[eg] When setting off, from home on a Hot day, the A/c is on , long before the Engine heats up

Hmm.. That is VERY tipical of a fan not working.. Maybe its ot working propery..
Could be the thermostat..
Next time you pull into your driveway --
let it idle in park.. Open the hood.. See how long it takes for the fan to come on.. See if the temp goes way up before the fan comes on..
Hope this helps !!
Please rate me good ;o)
Sometimes when these fans go - it wont spin as fast as it should or as long as it should..
