My left turn signal recently stopped working. Before ceasing to work, the turn signal (just the left) would blink very rapidly (machine gun speed).

sounds like one of light bulbs was malfunctioning and caused the flasher unit to blink rapidly and iy burned out. Replace front and rear turn lite bulbs and see if flasher flashes. if not check fuse and replace fuse. If fuse okay replace flasher unit. Good luck

Third eye works no rear signal or brake lights

The high mount brake light gets its own signal from the brake light switch (on the brake pedal). Or at least the wire leaving the brake light switch will splice, one wire to the high mount brake light, and the other for the rear brake lights is routed through the turn signal switch, and coordinated there with the turn signal wires to the rear brake lights. The brake wires and turn signal wires share the same wire, and same filament in the bulbs. It is kind of complicated, but brakes applied with no turn signal, brake light wire goes from brake light switch through the turn switch and out to the bulbs. If brakes applied with turning signal, non blinking brake light wire goes from turn switch to rear light, while the turning signal wire will go through the flasher relay, and then to the rear light to cause blinking.

I hope that makes sense. It appears the problem may be in the turn signal switch for both the turn signals and the rear brake lights.

No brake, turn signal, or flashers at rear of 2006 chevy express 2500

Sounds like a bad turn signal switch. I bet if you wiggle the turn signal lever while you have your foot on the brake pedal the left and right brake lights ill intermittently work.

1994 Chevy C1500 truck. No rear brake lights

Most likely this is a brake light switch issue. Replace switch.

If your emergency flashers don't work, all flasher bulbs are fine, but flashing too fast, then check and replace Hazard light switch.

2005 Dodge Magnum RT. Left turn signal in rear, flashes fast rear bulb replaced but blinker still blinks fast occassionally and rear turn signal light socket has no voltage when this happens. Where is the...

When its blinking fast look at both front and rear to verify which bulb isnt flashing. If the right works OK, then the flasher is OK. The flasher is INSIDE the front control module/integrated power module. If you cant find the problem, you may need a dealer to check it.

TURN SIGNAL, BRAKE & HAZARD LIGHTS

No Turn Signal Operation (blinker)The turn signal lights in your car are a basic electrical system that controls the front and rear blinker lights to alert the intended direction of the vehicle. We have listed some of the most common problems and repair troubleshooting tips below:
Troubleshooting Procedure
To start troubleshooting this problem:
  • Turn the key to the on position (do not start engine)
  • Inspect the system fuse located in the fuse panel and replace if needed. If you cannot find the location of the blinker fuse consult your owner's manual or an online repair manual
  • When a blinker flasher fails it can cause blinker lights to say on, not blink, or not go on at all. To test the blinker system flasher, remove the flasher unit and insert a jumper wire between the two terminals. If blinker stays on in both directions without blinking, replace the flasher. If you cannot find the location of the blinker flasher consult your owners manual or an online repair manual.

1993 Dodge Shadow...left turn signal won't flash

If the fuses are good and the front and rear bulbs are good, change the flasher for the turn signals, even tho the right is working. If that doesn't fix the problem, it might be in the turn sgnal switch on the steering column.
If both bulbs are good for the backup lights and fuses are good, then the backup light switch, which is screwed into the side of the transmission has to bad.

1991 Ford E150 turn signals do not work, emergancy flashers flash constantlly unless the flasher relay is unplugged from fuse block

Hi,

If I understand you right based on your post/description, the signal lights would still turn on even if any or both of the flasher relays are removed. Should this be the case, then the signal lights are not getting the power from the flasher relays but from the brake light circuit.

Perhaps your concern is not with any of the flasher, but simply missing or loose ground more particularly with the rear lights. Perhaps you could try determining which of the wires for the brake lights and signal lights (as they come out of the light assembly) would be ground . A test and even possibly a temporary workaround is to hard wire a second ground connection from the determined ground wire of the lights and attach it to any conveniently located bolt or screw to the body. it may be to your advantage to do this on all the rear lights assembly.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
