Oil pressure checked = good. oil pressure switch check = connection looks good. no excessive oil or dirt noted.
O.k. but the sender has a bimetal element inside it even if the connection looks good the sender inside can be damaged and not making contact thus no reading also I think you might have the wrong sender installed so here's the photo's to help you
2.3L with the gauge
2.9 with the gauge
2.9L and the 2.3L are the same for each engine with the light the gauge senders are different this could be the problem wrong sender installed and its not reading pressure because it can't? good luck stephen
Thanks Stephen. I just bought the sender a month ago. Hmmm.
was this working before and are you the original owner if not and you brought the old sender with you to the parts store the previous owner might have changed it and put the wrong one in and when it didn't work they just left it that way and now you took the wrong one in to match it thinking that it was blown and you again were given the wrong one because it matched the one you brought with you which was the wrong one to begin with this is possible I don't know but I think so a lot of do it yourselfers make these kind of mistakes and now your trying to correct the problem and you've been stumped and you can believe me this kind of stuff can drive you totally bongo's because you think you've done it right when you just repeated the same mistake, it is also possible that if it is the right one it's defective good luck and please post back I want to know what the end result is in 40 years of mechanic work I've seen just about everything you could think of and more it's amazing what can happen from parts guys who can't read or decipher stuff the right way to people who will just do anything in desperation to try to fix it when nobody has the right answer it's amazing!
