I am not sure what gulky means; however, I feel that it is not in the intended design of this engine. There are a few explanations for this, but suffice it to say, your engine is not long for this world.

It may be in your best interest to have the oil pan removed and have the gulky substance analyzed. If glycol (ethylene, or propylene) is found, a leaking head gasket/head/block is afoot.

If plain water is found, suspect you need more friends, or at least friends who live farther away so you can drive long enough to warm up the oil to greater than 212 degrees to boil off any moisture.

If none of the above is found, you need a better life coach who can help you organize your life and make sure you change your oil more regularly.

SOURCE: cant locate the oil filter or drain plug

the filter should be a cartridge type located underneath the enginecover plastic.it is usually on the right side of engine bay near the front of car.It will have a black plastic hex on the housing it is 1"and a quarter big and probably has a torque spec written on it something like 18 n-m or something.Hope it helps.

SOURCE: 2006 saturn ion door locks and trunk pop wont work....

The remote won't ework because the problem is in the vehicle. Just for test purposes and possible remedy. Remove and clean the negative battery cable. Ensure a clean , tight connection. Then find the body ground. Yhis ground is locted usually at the top rear of the engine. .I's a snall stainless steel strap bolted to the engine and fire wall, This must olsobe clean with a good contack. Might as well clean the + cable and connection on the battery while you are there. Good luck and keep me posted olease. Good Luck, Ned_

2006 Saturn Ion had oil changenow I smell gas in the oil and the oil pressure dropped very little

It is very hard for fuel and oil to mix. Unless by sabotage, check the color of your oil, do not go by smell. Fuel is a byproduct of oil. If you oil has not been changed in proper intervals you will still have some discoloration but if fuel was added to oil you would be seeing a grayish color on your dipstick. Fuel destroys the viscosity of oil and causes internal breakdown of engine bearings.

How to replace rod bearing for 2004 saturn ion 2.2 ecotec motor

If you have to ask it's way over your head. Rod bearings are about as deep into an engine as it gets. Best bet is to pull the engine and take it to a machine shop.

Hi, I drive a 2006 Saturn Ion and after I change my oil I just start hearing a knocking noise in my engine. Now I don't know if it's because of the type oil I used, I switch from using the castrol 5W 30...

The oil wouldn't cause that problem since their the same weight. You could have a problem if you ran the car with low oil. You should check your coolant and transmission fluids and make sure they are ok. You could have a bad piston. Is your check engine light on?

How to change the spart plugs in my saturn 06

The black piece that says "Ecotec" on it has a few bolts around the edge. Those need to be undone, and the cassette pulls up with the plug boots under it. The plugs are deep in the head of the engine from there.

2004 Saturn Ion transmission

It should be on the drivers side and it looks like the oil dipstick. Usually the top of the handle is shaped like a " T ". Most of the time it will be yellow and say trans on it. It may be lower than the oil dipstick. Good luck.
