Oldsmobile alero 2002 car will not start has power to everything light radio and such has fuel to injectors and we jumped across the starter and the starter works , the security light is flash though (new occurance) so why wont it start?
The security system is activated. It kills the injector pulse ( signal) and on some modles the starter. You will need to try to relearn the system. First try to start the car, leave the key in the run position for 10 minutes. Cycle the key off, then cycle it to the run position again for 10 more minutes. Cycle it off again, then back to run for another 10 min. after the last cycle turn it off then try to start the car. It is a 30 minute relearn. If this does not work you will need a repair shop to replace the passlock sensor. Good Luck

If your security light stays on u can try the same solution that everyone else told you. i had the same problem. i took it to auto zone or advanced auto parts. they hooked my car up with an odm modiule and the light went off. if that doesnt work you need to take your car to atlas or any other service place. its called a freeze frame. the freeze frame will erase any codes that you might have in the car and erase them. Example "security light on" it typically costs about $30 but its worth it and i had that done and havent had any more frustation.

I had the same problem with my Alero!! Nothing obvious wrong! It turns out, its something to do with a security system malfunction!! To fix: You have to turn the car on to accessories and just wait for the security light to stop flashing!! The car will start right up!!
