I had an oil change at Jiffy Lube and was told later by Hyundai there is a bullentin announcement about aftermarket oil filters. I had the oil changed at Hyundai because the engine was making a knocking/ticking noise. Now that the oil has been changed, why is it still making the noise?

Did the Hyundai dealer say the noise was the result of using the aftermarket filter? If so, I would take a copy of that bulletin to Jiffy Lube and see what they say.

SOURCE: ENGINE KNOCKS AND CHATERS AFTER OIL CHANGE - JIFFY LUBE PUT 5W30 OIL IN ENGINE.

You did not mention the year make and model, but unless it is a diesel I doubt the weight of oil would do it.
I would take it back as quick as possible before it locks up.
You have checked to make sure the oil level is full, right ?

What would cause my car to burn oil ,lots of it,no smoking tho

I had a similar problem after having my oil changed at jiffy lube. The problem was that they hadn't fully tightened the oil filter, so it was leaking oil when the engine was running. They did it to me on two cars. I don't go there anymore.

If you don't see smoke, you're not burning it. If you don't see it under where you park your car, it's not leaking when the car is parked.
tip

Engine Flush.

I get ask this question a lot. Should I do an engine flush? The answer to that is NO! If you have your vehicle serviced at a quick change lube, they will push services like this to you, especially if your a woman. Jiffy Lube is notorious for doing this. Every automotive manufacturer will state in their warranty, if you do this, they will void the warranty simply because it will cause a major engine failure. Over time sludge and deposits build up in an engine, when you flush it, it breaks up these deposits and they settle in the oil pan. Even when you drain the oil and place a new oil filter on, some of these broken up deposits remain in the engine plugging up the oil lube ports. This stops oil from properly lubing vital parts inside the engine causing engine failure. Products like engine flush are known as snake oils in the automotive repair business. The best and safe way to stop sludge build up or remove it, is to use a good quality synthetic oil and quality oil filter. This will end your sludge problem over time. One more thing, avoid quick change lube centers, any of them no matter if it's EZ- Lube, Jiffy Lube, Wal-Mart and on and on. The people working there are not automotive techs, the have not went to collage or have a degree in automotive technology. No one with a degree in automotive technology is going to be working at a quick lube center for minimum wage, they will be working in a good independent service center or dealership making $22 or more per hour. For more information on this, go to youtube and search Jiffy Lube Scam. There are tons of news story video's on all of these centers.

When Jiffy Lube changed the oil in my 2009 Ford Expedition, they did not reset the "Change Oil" message in the instrument panel. Since I set out on a trip immediately after the service, I can't...

You can leave it,it is a gadget, not tied to any system

You should have an owners manual (still) on a 2009

Never go the Jiffy Lube

Change the oil filter again.. make sure that it's not a fram.. gram filters have been known to cause your oil pressure light come on. Hope this helps you.

Jiffy Lube is notorious for taking things apart and not putting them back like their supposed to do. I USED to use them....try looking at the air filter, cause they always take it out to show you. I would bet its an airflow problem....please rate me...thanks
