I saw a broken ground coming from the fuel injectors. it kind of looks like it was ripped apart but it may have been cut. i used a buttsplice to repair the connection and wrapped it in electrical tape for added protection and figured that was that. problem is now my car will not start. all the fuses check out fine and all the lights/electronics not controlled by the computer seem to be working. however when we hooked up the diagnostics its showing no communication with the computer. could it be the starter relay got fried when i spliced up the ground? and if this is the case how much damage did i actually do? please if anyone has any thoughts on this don't hold back

Hi Chris Oltsch, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Can you post a photo of the repair you did. Was it running before the repair?
it was running fine. i noticed the split wire last night and have started the car 2-3 times since noticing it without trouble. i brought my car to my mechanic this morning to have my front sway looked at because it was rattling around when i drove over bumps. while my car was inside the garage i took advantage of the warmth to fix my liscense plate light and splice the broken wire. i was standing by my car the whole time and therefore know that this was not sabotauge on my mechanics behalf. once we determined that the sway links were loose and thus causing the rattling noise he gave me an estimate and was awaiting other customers so asked that i return at another time. i scheduled a time to come back and got into my car only to find that it would not turn over. complete silence. unlike when the battery loses charge and the car at least attempts to turn over. NOTHING. only the faint clicking noise of trying to turn the key. my mechanic genuinely looked over the car for about twenty minutes. went underneath and tried to crank it over manually with no success. tried a few other tricks such as shifting into neutral, hooking up a jumper pack, checking to see that the battery connections were solid and tight. i told him that i just had spliced the wires together and asked if that could have caused the mishap. he said he is unsure why it would have been disconnected but it may have shorted something out and is going to look over the car when he gets a chance.
i did notice neither my mileage counter/ trip counter read blank, just - - - - - 's across the display while the ignition was in the on position. also after telling him about the splice we cut the wire back apart (removed the splice that i did) and still nothing. i will post a picture of the wire in the morning (2/22) as i had to leave the car at mechanics shop. thank you for your consideration and i hope its nothing terrible, i really cant afford to drop serious cash on this unfortunate circumstance.
