My car is only engaging in drive from shifter inside but engages all gears except park manually from transmission why?
Check you transmission fluid, if it is low, it will not engage the other gears

I had the same problem and once I wiggled the shifter enough to get it out of park then the key stuck in the ignition started.

Regardless of what dealer tells you, there is no such thing as lifetime fluid. Even the best fluids such as synthetics should be changed. Change intervals should be regarded as false as well...If you changed all the fluids once a week your vehicle would last far longer than it does...Obviously this would take up a lot of time and $, but reasonably engine oil should be changed at at least 4,000miles, trans fluid every 25-30K. Otherwise the oil begins to chemically change loosing it's ability to do it's job and also carries fine contaminants with it that begin to wear components.

that would be your shift lever assembly and yes it can bwe fixed and its fairly easy
