It looks like your water pump on a 3.5L is run off the timing chain. I got some info which may help see it but may not be the exact as your car. If you are having some problems with overheating from what I saw looks like you have 2 thermostats and after changing thermostats, you can have air trapped in your engine, which will still allow engine to overheat.

this will be a bad move as you are wasting money on a system that has a leak
until you fix that leak the gas is wasted
next by allowing gas into the system , the ac compressor will switch on when the pressure is sufficient
to see of the ac compressor is running simply look at the plate in front of the pulley and if it is spinning ,it is working
best advice , have an accredited ac shop check it out first.
I REALLY DOUBT THE COMPRESSOR IS THE ISSUE HERE. The problem may be the air temperature control blend door actuator motor and/or the blend door is warped and jammed. To replace these componenets it will in most caases require the removal of the entire dash assembly
the air blend door inside the heating / cooling unit that sits under the dash is probably not moving. there is an electric motor and control unit that moves the air blend door (assuming you have the electric dial or push button digital controls. some of these vehicles have a valve that shuts off the antifreeze from cycling through the heater and if it remains open then you would get "not hot" but just warm air.
The Heater control valve that mounted on the fire wall may be at fault some what common on Nissan vehicle. Open valve manually with the lever on top if you get heat replace vale but first chech vaccum house connected to valve for vaccum. Good Luck
