I cannot reset my trip Odometer. The miles are showing, this part is working, but it will not go back to 000 when I push the reset button.

I just had to replace the climate control unit. Could it be related to that in any way?

this system has self testing capabilities, have any GM dealer test it for codes and proper function, If I had to guess I would say the climate control head is defective.

SOURCE: 1991 Buick Park Ave. climate control stopped

Check to make sure that you have enought freon to engage the compressor, then you will need a flow chart to take you through the rest of the steps necessary to diagnos this problem. The Electrical system manual for Buick is the only one that will have the proper information for you to walk through the steps to dead head it. There is a HVAC programer that is behind the floor heater duck work. It has a numbering system that goes from (2) rows of pins that go 1-16 for terminals. On terminal 5-7 with ignition in run position, you need bat. votage. Terminal 10 & 11 you need 4-5 volts. Neither 10 or 11 should be unplugged just yet since 10 feeds 11 pin. If there isn't any voltage at these pins, check for corrosion on the pins theirself, or for the pin that it may have slipped back out of the connector. Good luck.

My 2002 Saturn L100 odometer stopped working and isn't clocking miles at all.

Odometer
The odometer is an electronic digital display. Digits displayed are illuminated by the odometer backlight bulb. The odometer backlight bulb brightness is controlled by class 2 messages from the BCM to adjust the display for daylight and instrument panel dimming operation. The trip odometer and total odometer will show in this display area. The push button in the lower right side of the speedometer is used to toggle between the trip and total odometer readings. To reset the trip odometer, push and hold the button down for at least two seconds. The total odometer display has six digits with no decimal display. The trip odometer has four digits including a decimal point and indicates tenths of a mile or kilometer.
The body control module (BCM) stores the vehicle mileage. If the BCM fails, the cluster will display the last valid mileage that was sent before the BCM failed. For replacement of the BCM refer to the BCM section of this service manual. Replacement instrument clusters do not require odometer pre-setting before installation. If the instrument cluster is replaced, the mileage stored in the BCM will be sent to the new cluster via serial data, and shown in the odometer display.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

Odometer stopped working

How many miles are on this vehicle? I ask because the odometers in these car stop working around the 140k to 170k mark. Did the button comeback? Is this the mileage on the digital or analog trip meter?
The process to change the odometer gear is fairly straight forward and takes less than $20 and an hour. Let me know.

2008 Toyota 4Runner maintenance light is on eventhough I did changed the oil. How do I reset it?? I tried one of the suggestions which included turning the key to on and resetting the trip miles but...

You were close with re-setting the trip miles. Here are the steps:

(1) Turn key on, but do not start car. Keep pushing the trip miles button until you get to the odometer miles (the total mileage of the car), not the trip miles.

(2) Trun key off.

(3) Push and HOLD the reset button with one hand, then turn the key on (do not start the car) with the other.

(4) While you continue to HOLD in the reset button, you will notice the various warning lights blink and turn off. After about 10 seconds, release the reset button.

(5) Turn key off, then turn key back on and start car. The maintenance light will be off.

Showed originally 226,335 miles. overnite when turned on, odometer now has reset showing T_ _86.6 miles.

Most newer trucks and suv's have a digital odometer. the miles odometer and trip odometer are combinded. By pressing the little button that patrudes from the instument cluster will show you the orignal 226,335 miles. When you press and hold the button while the T__86.6 is displayed will reset the trip odometer. Some people use the trip odometer to monitor times between oil changes and tire rotations.

Maintenance Lamp

Here's how you reset your maintenance light.

To reset the light,
Turn the ignition on
Make sure the odometer displays "ODO"
1.Turn the key off
2.Press and hold down the same button you use to get to "ODO"
3.Turn the key back to ON ( while still holding down the button)
4.Hold the button in until all the flashing lines on the odometer go away and the bunch of "000000" shows up and the maint reset light will turn off.
Your'e done.

If this doesn't work, you would have to try it on "trip A" instead of "ODO".

Maint req light

That just means you're due for an oil change. they automatically come on after 5000 miles. To reset the light, put it on the odometer display in your instrument cluster. turn the key off. now push and hold the odometer/trip reset button while you turn on the key to the IGN position. You will see 5 dashes on the odometer display, which will sequencially disappear and then go back to the odometer when it's done. after your odometer shows again, you can release the odometer/trip reset button and your maintenence light should be off.
