My 06 frontier doesn't seem to downshift and seems to be stuck in hi gear

There are a few possible reasons your 2006 Nissan Frontier might have trouble downshifting. Here are some common issues to consider:

1. Transmission fluid level and condition: Check your transmission fluid to ensure that it is at the proper level and doesn't appear old or dirty. Low or deteriorated fluid can result in poor shifting performance.

2. Transmission control module: The transmission control module (TCM) controls the shifting of your automatic transmission. If there's a problem with the TCM, it could fail to send the signal to downshift. Diagnosing a problem with the TCM typically requires professional diagnostic equipment.

3. Shift solenoids: Shift solenoids are responsible for regulating the flow of transmission fluid and controlling when the transmission shifts gears. A problem with one or more shift solenoids could prevent your transmission from downshifting. Replacing a faulty solenoid typically requires removing the transmission pan.

Why would my 99 Nissan frontier transmission stop pulling when I cut off the over drive off

Your transmission is obviously failing, but it may be something as simple as low fluid level or the need for a standard transmission service. Has the fluid and filter been changed in the past 50,000 miles? If not, START THERE. It may be too late to save the transmission but there is always a chance you may.

How to check and add transmission fluid in a 2001 nissan frontier

Im guessing this is an automatic, theres a trany dipstick, engine should be at operating temp and the truck level remove the dip stick and wipe clean then reinsert and pull out the fluid should be in the hass maxs. if this truck is manual trans then the trany is checked from under the truck, remove the fill plug on the side of the trany and fill unttil oil runs out the fill hole. hope this helps.

While driving around seventy only on highway nissan frontier makes a vibrating noise like im running over the ingrave safety rivets on the outer side lanes but only last a couple seconds on an off

Check your CV or U-joints and have the transmission checked. Fluid Level and Differential Level if so equipped. If these are all good you'll want to have the transmission checked.

The transmission slips in and out of overdrive too much and shifts a little rough, but only in overdrive

Check the fluid level of the transmission. Also if you haven't done so in the last 30k miles change the transmission filter/fluid and pan gasket.

It's weird but it's the problem!!! There is a switch on the transmission near the selector, usually only affects 3rd gear!!! The switch is being distorted after repetitive battering with gear selection!!! I have experienced it and also read about it in australia on a Navara!!!
