When I am Driving my car and stop for a traffic light, the engine will die, stop iddling?

will it start again? if it start again probably the idle is to low and battery has nothing to do with the problem. rudy perez

Check the output on the alternator.. your battery might be just about dead.. Alternator should put out 14.5 v or more with the engine running, The battery with the engine stopped should read 12V or better.. with the engine running the battery should read almost as much as the alternator output.

Sounds like you might have a weak fuel pump.You need to check your fuel pressure you didn't say which engine it has but if its a 5.7 you need 9-13 psi with the engine running.If its not within the specs then replace the fuel pump and filter.

Scan it from the OBDII System to find out for sure or remove the Alternator and have it tested at your local Auto Parts Store.

You need t have your charging system checked. Low voltage can affect the engines sensors that monitor engine performance. If the battery isn't being charged while you are driving, it will eventually be drained and the engine will die and yu will lose power steering and brakes. If this happens in traffic or at high speed, you could be in big trouble. Have your alternator checked or replaced. Wouldn't hurt to have the battery checked at the same time.

i think you should check fuel pressure before buying the expensive fuel pump,also inspect spark plugs how long have you had the car did you ever replace them?

hi it sounds like the acclerrator pump on carby when you first take off is this whot it dose .

try to adjust the iddle speed screw, tighten it clockwise
