The power button for the up/down and adjustment lever for the seat back all work fine. this problem is out of the blue...was working fine this morning!
I was JUST working on a similar problem at work. It was a 2006 Altima SE with improper seat operation. It would ONLy go up/down on the bottom section of the seat. The recline and slide didnt work at all. It was looked at by different dealer and they couldn't fix it, so it end it up at my dealer ship. Since some of the features of the power seat are working, that means that you have power going to the switch. The switch provides ground for the whole circuit. The wires coming from the switch got chaffed and switch burned up. I installed new seat switch ($150 or so for the switch) and the whole seat bursted to life. I am pretty sure that you seat switch in NG.
I had a similar problem and it was the switch also. if you don't want to shell out the $$ for a factory switch you can do like I did and replace it with a $10 rocker switch.
ngineer,
I have the same problem ans i do not have the money for the dealer parts. How did u do this yourself and where can i get a rocker switch?
Hi Ngineer, Thank you for the great Idea. can you please let me know what wires I would need to cut to get the new rocker to work. Thank you. JR
I tryed that and it was the problem know the car works and it running great

In response to the questions to my previous comment, I you can use a multimeter or simle circuit tester to find which wires supply power to the seat. I don't remember the wire colors, but if I remember correctly the power wires were larger gage than the other wires. I didn't cut any wires but used tap splice connectors to get power and then used faston connectors directly to the spades on the motor. I got the dpdt momentary rocker switch from drillspot.com. Be careful working under the seat, the sheetmetal under there has some VERY sharp edges.

I found the circuit board had burnt thru for the back up switch. like a fuse does. re wired around it and its fine now, they made the circuit board too THIN for the switch so it burnt thru at that thin location
