Hey guys i usally dont do this im pretty good with this but my car is making a knocking noise only in first and second at first i thought it was the bottom end but then realised it wasnt cause there is no noise when im not moving any suggestons would help thank you

The noise will be in the brake disc rotors and could be the inside face cracked . Have a brake specialist shop do the check as the knocking noise under brakes will have nothing to do with a transmission.

Listen to the engine, if the noise is down low it is rod if it is up high it is valves. IF it is rod knock it will eventually throw the rod.

is it engine related- or drive train related- with the loss of power I'd say its engine related-what is your oil level like- a noise like that could be pretty bad-spun rod bearing-hope not-Denny

Usally if your turning the wheel and accelerating the axles will make a clicking noise if the joints have gone bad. If this is the case then you need to replace the whole axle(s)

spark knock is usally poor fuel.
try a tank or two of premium with cleaning additives.
if that works when try the next lower grade untill the knock returns.
then just use the lowwest grade that did not knock.

elf fi: I have a sneaky suspicion that you may have a bolt on a caliper missing. I might suggest that you jack the car up on the side in question and pull the wheel to look at the brakes. You don't have to be a tech to know if a part os missing, it should be obvious. The caliper is affixed to the car by two large bolts which go in from the back side. So you would have to look on the inside for the attaching bolts. There are two smaller bolts which attach the caliper to caliper mounting bracket, so make sure you look at both.
I have a method I had come up with when I was teaching collision repairs. I call it "SESAME STREETING". "what ever is on the left, should be on the right. Don't forget to make comparisons between opposite sides. Usually one should mirror the other. Most vehicle are symmetrical. Anyway, I would definitely be looking for a loose or missing fastener. first try changing the sending unit,if your not hearing any knocking when it drops too zero then you dont have any majior problems
