SOURCE: My check engine light is

Had same problem with mine. First would not show speed until reached about 25 MPH and then was intermittent. Starts with ABS and Brake Light on and no speed. Checked another website and suggested pulling sensor out of top of rear differential. About $30 part but in hard to reach area. be careful when reinstalling. Do not tighten bolt too fast as this may break the part. Allow it to slowly slide into place. Takes 30-60 minutes to replace. Works fine now.

SOURCE: 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan, the ABS light on the

It can be several things the ABS modulator, wheel sensors... I would bring it to the dealer and have them diagnose it, they will then retrieve the Abs DTC that your car is giving and pinpoint the problem, this will probably be cheaper than guessing and hoping replacing things will fix the problem!

SOURCE: ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT STAY ILLUMINATED

i currently own 2 of these trucks, in total ive had 6 of them .. i know i must like abuse right..lol. on your cruise not working. try this the big flat panel on your dash under the steering wheel. remove it.now this is assuming you have a tilt unit. money bets you do. but anyways the main feed wire i think its called D3 goes out to the fuse box as well as many other wires and a very fine i think again green wire. the problem is that over time using the tilt under normal circumstances those wires start to break. the D3 goes right to the key switch. if that breaks while out on the road. you have 4200 pound paper weight. good place to start. as for your brake light and abs most likley its the abs card or trigger that is located on the center of the rear axle housing. alot of times just replacing the card. if it comes back in a week then its probobly the trigger. not that its broke. this thing goes thru the housing and reads the teeth on the ring gear. and any little wear or a slight chip and they dont read right.. i quit fixing this problem on mine.truth is this thing is the second most delicate thing on the truck... the junk transmissions are the first.. sorry had to say it

ABS warning light stays on

One of your wheel sensors are defective. Have a mechanic troubleshoot it. You can still drive without the ABS. Your regular brakes will still work.

Why does my brake light and the a b s light comes on when this vehicle has brand new calipers and pads on

Because the problem is not with pads and/or calipers. If the lights come on only when you brake, you may have a light bulb out. If they come on when you start the car and they stay on, you have a problem with your ABS system (anti-lock braking system). The systems self-check when you start the car, so the light should come on and then go out. If it comes on and stays on, the ABS system has failed. You need to have the vehicle serviced to repair the ABS system.

Gear shift stays in park and abs esp and asr lights on

1) try to use the self diagnose.
2) place ignition swtuch in the start position, the lights coming on
3) engine starts, the brake light sould turn off inmediately. the ABS ligth will illuminate for aprox 6 seconds.
4) test drive the vehicle at speed above 20mph for a few minutes. during the test the both test lights should remain off, if any one of the warninign light utron, take note of the condition.
5) stop the vechicle using the braking pressure.both light should remain offf during the stopping procedure.
60 place the gear selector in to PARK, and observe the warning lights, they should both be off.

I have a 2002 BMW 530i where the brake light, ABS light and triangle (traction?) light all stay on. It has been intermittant as when you first start the car, everything is off but once you start moving,...

i suspect that their is a rusty damaged toothed sprocket on one of the wheels and as its a rear wheel drive vehicle then it could be a back one which is what i would check first

Abs light stays on I have put new brake line on new calipers because they were sticking causing brakes to get hot, thats all fixed but light still stays on.

the ABS light is on because there has been a fault detected by the ABS module. It has nothing to do with the actual braking system.

The ABS module does a self check every time you start the vehicle. If it detects a problem during that self check the ABS light will stay illuminated and a code or codes for the fault will be stored in the ABS module. Scanning the module will allow you to pull the codes and proceed with diagnosing why the fault is occurring.

The most common source of ABS problems is bad wheel speed sensors or broken wires to the wheel speed sensors. Again pulling the codes from the ABS module will narrow down the possibilities.

Once you now what codes are present post them and we will be happy to assist you further.

Abs light and the brake light come on when starting the car and never turn off. Mecanic says the brakes are fine. What could be the problem?

The abs system does a self check every time you start your vehicle. If something fails during the self check the ABS light will stay on and the brake light will turn on as well. Have the ABS scanned to find out what trouble code is stored. The usual cause for this to happen is a bad wheel speed sensor. If the stored code is for a speed sensor it will tell you which wheel to look at.

Tahoe abs and brake light intermittently stay on

When you start to loose your abs sensors(more than one)the brake light will come on.with one sensor going the abs light will come on.I would have your front wheel bearings check seen as how that is were the sensors are.If a weeering sound happens while driving and increases and decreases with with speed I would definatly suspect wheel bearings.

2004 focus brake & ABS light on

Ok the reason I ask is that will help to pinpoint the concern. See ABS system when you first turn the ignition on will do a self test on itself, light turns on for a few seconds then turns off if everything proves out. Then when you start driving once you reach about 12 mph it will activate the pump and perform a 2nd self test.If everything is ok light stays off,if it see's a problem it turns on the light and disables the ABS.
Since yours comes on after you start driving then problem is most likely a wheel speed sensor concern. Since you just did a rear brake job and the problem started after this I would say it is one of the rear sensors. You need to look at the sensors and make sure the sensor and ring look ok and that you didn't get grease or dirt in the teeth of the sensor ring or maybe bent the end of one of the sensors and make the gap larger between sensor and ring.

Anti lock brakes

depending on the system if it is 2 channel or 4 channel one of the sensors that are located on the backing plate located behind calipers is eithier faulty or dirty you can try brake cleaner these sensors use a small magnet pickup device to sense when the wheel "locks up"
