Clutch pedals are suposed to go all the way to the floor , you sure you dont mean brake pedal (cus thats bad ! ) clutches should travel all the way to floor and release the "grab" of the engine about 2/3 down , this way they are more smoothly allowing shifting thru the gears and not jerking as you shift thru the gears , if clutch pedal does not start to "grab" the engines power by 2/3 off the floor and fully "grab"its power all the way up(slipping) ,and you have a hydraulic clutch (96's do) then the clutch disk may require replacement or there is a oil leak in the clutch/master/slave cylinder , look for small oil leaks from under car in area of foot pedals
clutches should be replaced as an assembly that includes , disk ,pressure plate, throwout bearing , with engine side clutch plate magnafluxed for heat cracks and any hydraulic oil leaks replaced or repaired

SOURCE: why does clutch leak off and wont go into gear 96

check clutch master cylinder sound like it is low and you have air in the hydralic system.if fluid is low check for leaks at the clutch master cylinder lines and slave cylinder line fix leaks bleed the clutch mastercylinder make sure its full of fluid when bleeding if clutch mastercylinder run dry while bleeding you have to repeat bleeding process.

Depending how many miles are on the vehicle, the clutch plate may need to be replaced. Do you hear any strange "grinding" noises when engaging or disengaging the clutch? I'm assuming you have checked the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir and it is full. You may also want to change the fluid as hydraulic fluid deteriorates over time and it may not be completely disengaging the clutch. Please rate this answer, thanks.

My v6 camaro vibrates pretty bad when I am around 2,000-3,000 rpm then goes away after I pass the 3,000 mark. It does it in every gear. It vibrates the whole car, i don't think its a motor mount problem...

Is it a standard trans?
If so,does it does the vibration (with the trans in gear and your foot holding the clutch pedal down) disappear or is reduced?
If it is better then the clutch disk may be damaged.

Camaro just dies going down the road, stop the car ,it always starts and runs fine

Try cleaning the ignition key with brake cleaner or other solvent. Theft deterrent system may be losing contact with key. Also check for a loose wire in the big rectangular wire junction located about halfway between dash and floor. Had the same problem with a 96 formula. hope this helps

Clutch pedal stays 2 the floor on a hydralic clutch system on a 2000 camaro v8. clutch master cylinder is new also slave cylinder and clutch and pressure plate

Did you bleed the system? When you replace the the master and/or slave cylinder you have to bleed the system just as you would with brakes. There is a bleed screw on the slave cylinder. Open the bleed screw, have a helper depress and hold the clutch pedal down.Tighten the bleed screw, then release clutch. Repeat this procedure until you have removed all air from the system and the clutch pedal is firm. Keep an eye on the fluid level to avoid sucking air into the system. If you have done this, remember there is a possibility that the master or slave cylinder is defective.

YOU HAVE A LEAKING MASTER OR SLAVE CLUTCH HYDRAULIC CYLINDER (AIR LEAKING INTO THE SYSTEM), SINCE THESE ARE ALWAYS REPLACED TOGETHER IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHICH IS THE PROBLEM CYLINDER.

Grinding gears

Have the clutch checked first by a mechanic you trust-perhaps a small shop with a good reputation. The clutch could just be worn out. If the clutch checks out okay, then he will want to check the tranny itself next.

Good luck to you and Thank you for using Fix ya!
