It's most noticable when trying to park, but my '99 Silverado is making the worst whiny grinding noise when turning left to right. Power steering fluid is full, and there are no kinks in the line. I'm leaning towards wheel bearings, but at $130 a pop, I'd like to be sure before randomly replacing things.
When accelerating into a turn, the noise is non-existant, but from a stop, or while trying to park, it's so loud that it's embarrassing! Any suggestions? Thanks!
Sounds like the power sterring pump check valve is failing because it only when you turn, try to turn the wheels standing still to verify the noise, if noise present, replace the ps pump.
Why does my 2004 Chevy Tahoe make a rattling wire sound every morning when I start it? When I take off it cont'ds the rattling wire sound like if there were cans underneath can anybody help me PLEASE?
Sf1129, I have the same noise going on with my '04 Suburban -- have you had any luck in resolving the issue? Thanks!
By lifting the wheel and turning it you can feel if the bearing are shoot you can hear the grinding noise
