SOURCE: 2001 dodge dakota crank no start

Just had that problem w/ my 01 Dekota, it was the resistor that used to be mounted on the firewall and easy to get to but that is now mounted low on the back of the engine jammed into a bey tight position. I couldn't get to it myself, so ended up taking it to neighborhood garage. Cost me about $150

What have you done for diagnostics so far? Is the engine light on? Did the ECM store any codes? Besides the current symptoms, was there anything else you can add to this issue ( like, did it happen out of nowhere, happens when its cold, hot, wet). I need more info, several things can cause a no start. But in your discription it sounds like a vacuum leak, I.A.C.valve, TPS sensor, or maybe map or maf sensor. But it is crazy to go further until you can run some diagnostic test and narrow down, the cause of your problem. I can say that it sounds like it is related to the ECM and when you disconnect the battery, it is putting the ECM into default, and as the vehical is running it senses the fault and causes the engine to die. Try to provide some engine codes if possible.

My 2001 dodge intrepid wont start

Many many reasons, camshaft drive chain failure (2.7 V6) is one, no spark is another, no fuel pressure is another, if not cranking over with the starter then the battery can be the cause or the cables to it are loose or corroded.

After a bump it dies and now it wont turn on gas meter not working and no spark it just cranks on my jeep grand cherokee 1996

There should be a reset for the fuel tank. It is a safety switch that they have added to stop fires from rearend collisions. Not sure where it is on your vehicle. Look in owners manual or call dealership.

Inspect the sump and see if it hasn't been bashed up against the crank shaft. Check engine mounts for cracks. Check lines are not squashed or kinked.

While driving it died.... engine light is on, but it wont start back up

if the check engine light does not go out when cranking, this means you have no rpm signal, you should then try to replace the crank sensor an seewhat that does

2001 dodge stratus wont start

SORRY TO SAY BUT WHEN ONE SENSOR GOES BAD 90% OF THE TIME BOTH GO BAD AT THE SAME TIME. YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO REPLACE CRANK SENSOR .WITCH IS ABOUT 80 BUCKS AT THE LOCAL AUTO STORE SUCH AS ADVANCED AUTO OR AUTO ZONE . BOTH CAM SHAFT SENSOR AND THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE DODGE STRATUS. GOOD LUCK. KENNY
