For some time, a/c would blow air, but not cold. Had freon put into MB 190E. No cold a/c would come out. Mechanic put on diagnostic equipment for @ 1/2 hour. Was then told air compressor gone bad and would cost @$1,000 to replace. Could not spend $1,000 for the job at this instance, so left and went on about my business. Before day was out, 2 of my power windows suddenly stopped working. What, if anything, could be any relation between my visit to the garage and the power windows stopping working. If only one window, may be just typical of window power problem; but 2 windows at exactly same time, I can't help but wondow if it might have something to do with the fact that something occurred while my car was being diagnosed to find the problem with the a/c.
Hello, good day, since your car was diagnose with defective compressor, you may try with another shop, for second opinion,or you may ask the reading (pressure gauge) of your compressor.,to evaluate,,if compressor,ex. valve, dry tank, is defective,,for your window, please check your fuse box ,maybe coincidence ,ty
You might check the fuse box & relays. and the ac shouldn't cost quite that much if you buy the part yourself. if you tell me what year, model, and engine i can look up part # and cost for you. the labor shouldn't cost more than $300 if you bring your own compressor.
