Sounds as if the ignition cylinder has an internal problem. You may have a sticky wafer inside the cylinder. You can try using some WD 40 and inserting the straw inside the cylinder and giving it a good spray. You can also try gently rocking the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. With out the ignition cylinder turning, the gearshift will not come out of park nor will the steering wheel come unlocked. Hop this helps
Most likely fuel pump problem have someone crank the engine while you bang on the bottom of the fuel tank if it starts you are in for a pump. If notyou will need to test ign system
install pressure gauge and watch when key is turned off to see if pressure drops to zero if so bad drain back valve in fuel pump replace it or deal with it or could be cheap aftermarket pump and has hard time building unnecessary pressure to open poppet valves between before fuel injectors
Check ALL the fuses !!! Does the brake lights work? if not,, the shift inter lock may be disabled ,,, if the lights work the interlock solenoid might be the culprit . You should be able to get in gear by turning the ignition switch off then turning to the first selection ,,don't turn it untill the dash lights come on ,,with the key in that position you should be able to shift the lever to put it in gear ,,,,dont move the key untill its in the correct gear
OK, if the scanner can't read codes or communicate with the computer and the service engine soon light does not go on when ignition is turned on but it hasn't started, then the computer may be bad on it.
