The starter rotates but the engine doesn`t start?

Assuming that the new starter and battery are not defective (one easily could be), the next thing to check for would be to verify that the engine is not seized up. Get a breaker bar wrench and fix it to a socket that is the size of the crankshaft pulley nut. Place the socket over the nut, and, facing the engine, attempt to rotate the crankshaft in a clock wise direction. If it turns, then the engine is not seized. If it won't turn at all, then next, remove all spark plugs and try to rotate the engine again. If it still won't rotate, you have serious internal engine issues. If it does rotate after removing the plugs, you may have had hydrolock, where gasoline fills the cylinders and won't allow the engine to rotate. If it rotates, then try to use the starter again briefly with the plug removed. Obviously it won't start, but if it rotates, you can put the plugs back in and try again, hopefully with success. If the engine is seized, unless the car itself is in mint condition, you're better off getting a new car than trying to repair this one just based on age.

HEILA by not starting don you mean the starter wont turn the engine over or do you mean the car wont idle? start by checking if the wire to the starter is mounted on the starter that is the big red wire from the battery and next your thin wire to the solenoid if its plugged onto the starter solenoid . check again if your earth wire is it mounted onto the engine block . lastly try to turn the engine to see if it rotates in case you have installed a siezed engine not unless you have done the turning with the spanner on the crankshaft bolt to see if the engine rotates before cranking it.

Suggest you try a jump start of your car. If it starts, then it is either the battery or the alternator. If it doesn't then, you can take off the serpentine belt and try to rotate the engine with a large wrench (CW). If it rotates, then it will be your starter or starter solenoid or the starter relay.

I would start off by trying to jump start the vehicle. If it starts and runs normal, that tells you the starter and engine are okay, and the problem is in the charging system - battery, battery cables, alternator, relays, etc.

Now if it doesn't start, I would take the belt off and see if I could move the crank manual with a wrench. If it rotates (CW) then most likely your starter is bad.

try the spare key and if that doesnt work have car taken to a dealer as without a detailed description i cannot advise

I am the type that likes to jump start a car to troubleshoot it. If you jump start the car and it starts that tells you that the starter and engine is good and the problem is in your battery or alternator. If it doesn't start then I take the serpentine belt off and try to turn the engine with a large wrench. If it rotates, then I replace the starter and starter solenoid.

Clicking instead of starting? The clicking is usually the starter solenoid being pushed out to the flywheel. If your engine isn't turning then it means that either your battery is too weak to turn the engine or your starter has malfunctioned or maybe engine that your engine has locked up.

Recommend you either jump start the car or use a battery charger with the start function to see if it is the battery or starter/engine lock up. If the engine still does not turn over. Take off your serpetine belt and try to rotate your engine with a large socket. If the engine rotated, then it is most likely your starter/solenoid that is bad. If the engine would not rotate by hand then something inside the engine has malfunctioned and it will take some serious work to get it operational again.

First you need to find out if it is your starter or engine that is causing the fuse to blow. I would suggest you take the serpinetine belt off and see if you can rotate the engine using a large socket wrench or not. If the engine turns by hand, then it isn't froze up. If it doesn't turn, then something has broken loose and has your engine locked and trying to start it will only damage your starter.

IF the car cranks over but doesn't start you need to see if you have Spark and Fuel. IF it doesn't crank, check starter and related circuit, tapping on starter will sometimes help to get it rotating. Check all fuses, and make sure battery terminals are clean and tight. Have someone or yourself connect a scanner DTC reader and see if you have any engine computer faults. If manual transmission make sure your clutch pedal switch is not missing the bushing. Aftermarket alarms can cause no starts also, but usually a "no-crank" situation.

i need more detailscheck if engine rotate wen attemting 2 start if not rotate check starter pinion or flyweel teeth worn or broken . remove the fly weel/driver plate access cover and inspect---------- ENGINE ROTATES BUT WILL NOT START fuel tank empty,fuel filterplugged or fuel line restricted,fuel pump faulty. check those points good luck
