SOURCE: 2002 Ford Explorer - Drivers side door lock, rear

Aside from the fuses, your drive side power door lock may be failing to work because of a bad door-lock relay system, or, alternatively, the locking switch/button, itself, is not malfunctioning and in need of replacement.

A great handyman site that specifies the above probable causes and more is the following link:
http://yourhandymanzone.com/Your_Handyman_Zone_How_To_Pages_Vehicle_Car_Zone_Cars_Trucks_Vans_Locks_Power_Locks_Do_Not_Lock_When_Pressing_Locking_Switch_Button.htm

Good luck!

Check the fuse panel first, after that check your fuse relays under the hood, if not then it might be a wiring problem.

SOURCE: how to remove spark plugs in a 2003 ford explorer

I had the same 'scratch my head' moments while looking at the engine trying to figure it out. I found this link on the web and it was VERY helpful! Pics and easy wording for me. I found that I didn't need the swivel ratchet that he suggested but DID need to be a contortionist a couple of times. Hard on the hands and knuckles but still doable. Good luck and lots of patience!

2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Which actuator controls what? There is one on the right and left of the center console, mine will blow cold on driver's side and hot on the rear and passenger side.

Question edited for clarity and spelling of 'console'.
Question moved to model category.

They are called blend door actuators. You just check them all for operation. You have one that has failed or become unclipped. Details in the link

2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Limited 4x4 v8 - drivers headlight fault - no illumination after built replacement - swapped fuses

I had a similar problem with a Ford Windstar 2001, the Headlight bulb has a different specification, and the computer still shows a "Left Headlight problem" but the headlight turns on. I bought a bulb in the Ford Dealer, problem fixed. But the mayor concern that worries me is the no illumination. My recommendation is to get a Chilton's or Haynes Manual, most of them has the Electrical Schematic. Seems to me that a ground connection is loose, or the bulbs belongs to other model and doesn't have the correct terminals. A Repair Manual worth when we have old cars; around 25 - 45 dollars a manual, depends on the store. Don't give it up! Enjoy fixing!

Try disconnecting the battery negative cable for 5 min's then see if the system sync's up again, if n joy then you have a failed air temperature control blend door motor.
