now yes, i will take the transmission is fubar into consideration but theres an .....however... idk about my cv joint, my car ONLY would make a loud ping noise when i move from a stop or brake ..... almost always when i put it into reverse. such as an engine mount sound, ... sounds like a possible valve-body solenoid problem in transmission or maybe switch problem

Is the throttle plate closed all the way? The 4v wide open is a little low and the .6 closed maybe a little high. The wide open should be 4.5 -5 v. Are you reading 5v at the tps plug with the plug unplugged from the tps? Pretty much , what is going in should be close to what wide open should be.

2004 holden rodeo 3L ITD. dt P1120. Saying tps fault. Used scan tool to inspect data list an ECU is recieving signal perfect. Goes from 16% to 100%. Double checked TPS output from TPS plug and goes from 0.6v to 4v nice an smoothly. Im suspect on ECU because when i erased code and started engine it revved up to red line by itself but only did once. Any help would be great....

Change the oil in it before running the engine.

Get it started and see if it runs. If it has never had the CO2 sensors changed, they need to be. I have a 1997 Rodeo. There are (4) sensors altogether.

As far as the transmission goes, you need to get the car running to define what issues it is having. My son had a 1995 Rodeo that was always starting out in high gear so the car had no power at take off. It was because his alternator was defective and was sending a high voltage signal to the electronic shift mechanism of the transmission.

I tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. it wont move forward or reverse, engine is good both solenoids for
forward and reverse work.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and works perfect! got it from www.reliable-store.com

it sounds like your transmission is slipping. they make this chemical you can get at a part store, its a transmission stabalizer. it should help with the grinding noise and transitions to the other gears. also give your truck a complete tune up (oil change, fuel and air filters, spark plugs etc.) it should help with the fuel consumptions.

I believe '02 rodeo's have buttons for power mode and winter mode located between the shifter and the flip up console.You may have accidentally activated winter mode which cuts power to the drive wheels for driving in ice and snow.If so look on the instrument cluster and "winter mode" will be lit in green,simply push the button again to deactivate it while in PARK.Hope this helps ,good luck.

check the rear dif.

Assuming this is an automatic transmission, odds are you have lost a band in your transmission, this will require a rebuild,  you may also notice it will fail to shift into high gear as well?
