I personally run 80-90 gear oil but some manufacturers recommend 30 grade for their boxes ( straight mineral oil) best check it out at a service dealer centre.
You dont add fluid to a standard transmission, you fix the clutch
Clutch is fine. I'm not at all naive when it comes to cars. I just need to know what kind of fluid I put back in my tranny when I change the fluid. I'm sure it's ATF, I'm just wanting confirmation... Thanks though. I'll wait for someone who knows
And you're the one misinforming! In order for gears to change smoothly and last, they need lubricant, otherwise you're grinding metal on metal. Next time you change a clutch, skip the gear oil, or tranny fluid, whichever it takes, and let us know how long it lasts us.
