There is a light in my rav 4 it shows an engine problem. What is scv ad how can it be dealt with

have car scanned for codes

Have someone read the code. That will give you an idea where to look. Could be a wheel speed sensor.

P1653 SCV Circuit Malfunction
This could be caused by the oil control valve, low oil level, infrequent oil changes, a fault in the wiring to the valve or a bad PCM. What is odd is that the code is not listed in my information database.

my guess, NO SCAN TOOL?

you can't fix car with out, a (drum roll) SCAN TOOL

the modern car also cuts cruise for many reasons.

(death) reason and #2, billion dollar class action suits. (read news?)

so they now cut the cruise for lots of engine failures and trans.

no scanning the PCM now, you lose.



2004 RAV 4 no engine stated.

if it has TBW (throttle by wire ) that too, cuts CRUISE big time if iffy

yes,DTCs for TBW or limphome of any kind !!!



what engine, we cant fix engine issues, with out that.

only about 10% here post that. so most answer are wrong.

imagine with body shells missing , see that < what is it,its a drive train. what is yours? engine and trans. what?

Check engine light on runnning

Scan tool shows, DTC errors. BINGO.

scan tool show stuck on limphome?

Throttle or idle errors of any kind?

there is no cruise module on ours USA>

The PCM mimics that in pure software (fact)

so if the PCM is unhappy, it does in fact cut cruise.



no scan tool makes all this IMPOSSIBLE on all newer cars !!!!

The flashing check engine light means there is a serious problem with the performance of the engine. You need to get the computer scanned for trouble codes next.

Did you check the computers for trouble codes ?

clean or replace your SCV, (Sanction Control Valve) near the pump use carburetor spray clean. Your problem is in the CDRI system of your car. Check the following:
a. SCV ( can be clean or new)
b. Pump pressure
c. EGR (Can be clean or new)
d. Fuel filter (change new one)
e. injector
f. Water separator ( replace with new)

mon rav 4 2002 moteur D4 ne tourne pas au ralenti, ce qui pourrait

pls check the gas or fuel cap gor if closed , if yes , pls open it and close it again but carfully to hear only one clik as mentioned on the top of this cap, then check engine and vsc and 4wd lights will be turned off when you'll turn on your vehicule. pls let me know if it work .

Sounds like the Orange engine light is on? If yes, the 07 Rav 4 is a great car but suffers greatly with Lambda faults. You need the code read to be sure plus there are 4 lambda's on your car.

If it is a Red triangle light staying on then it could be low brake fluid level.
