I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight Royale and the trunk light only works during the day and doesn't work at night!

There are a few potential causes for the trunk light in a 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Royale not working at night. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the trunk light bulb to make sure it is not burnt out or loose.
  2. Check the fuse for the trunk light in the fuse box. If the fuse is blown, it will need to be replaced.
  3. Inspect the wiring for the trunk light for any damage or lose connections.
  4. Check the trunk light switch to make sure it is functioning properly.
  5. If the issue persists, you may need to have the electrical system in the trunk inspected and repaired by a professional mechanic.
I hope this helps! If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask.

Trunk light won't go off on dash board 2003 Saturn l200

There is a micro switch in your trunk latch that turns that light on and off. If your trunk is securely latched and the light is on, either the switch needs cleaned or the latch needs replaced. You can try spraying it with a contact cleaner and seeing if it will start working.

I'm having a problem with the dome light and both reading lights. they all stopped working at the same time. I checked the fuses and they look fine. The car is a 2004 Buick Century I don't know if it's...

For your first problem I would suggest taking a test light and double checking the fuses I would always recommend doing that because I have worked on numerous vehicles where the fuses were pulled and not replaced firmly and not making contact (just a good thorough habit to get into) if your fuse has power check for power on either your dome or personal reading lamps they are both on the same circuit. If you have power then replace the bulbs if not you will need to check for power between the lights to your illuminator/interior light switch this should isolate if you have a defective circuit ie:shorted, cut, loose wire connection which would need to be repaired. Your second problem the trunk open indicator showing it is still on when closed: open your trunk with the key on have someone push the trunk lid jamb switch several times to check for proper function if it still shows to be opened then it will need to be replaced if it goes on and off as it should then you should check your weather strip/struts and all components & function of trunk to ensure it is properly closing and not out of proper alignment. Hope this helps and if you have any more questions let me know.

How do I replace the bulb for the brake light..I have the bulb, but just need to know what to do to replace it.

If it's one of the lower ones... go in through the trunk, look to see if carpeting or a cover needs to be removed, or peeled back, usually the sockets twists (turns) to be removed, then the bulb will be exposed. An 1157 bulb needs to be pushed in slightly and turned to remove, (Counter clockwise) A 3157 bulb pulles straight out. Also note that some vehicles still need the exterior lens to be taken off, but I do believe yours is sealed!

Trunk pull Down Motor Suddenly stopped working

did it quit making the noise when you lightly push down on the trunk? most people slam these trunks and your not suppose to you are only to put light pressure on them and they pull it closed theirself.. you might check your relays under the hood and look in the box lid to see which one it is.. if this is not the problem you might have to replace the motor to the latch .. you might check with a test light to see if there is power to the motor first though .. thanks and holler if you have more Jerry .

Trunk wont open

MY 06 Impala tunk would not open using my key fob, or the trunk button on my car . IF you own this vehicle you know that there is no manual keyhole on the trunk. I had to remove my back seat . It is held on by two bolts. In the trunk on the trunk lid is an emergency release handle. Once the trunk is open you need to remove the lock mechanism. Take a test lightand check the wire harness. If you are getting power to the harness and the lock still does not work, you need to replace it. GM wanted 189 for a new lock mechanism, i went to a auto scrap yard. they didnt have an 06 impala, but they did have an 06 malibu. they use the same lock system.the wire connectors for the harnesses look different but it fits fine. the only drawback is my convenience light in my trunk does not work when the trunk is open. only cost 15 bucks for the part.

Rain getting into rear lights

Clean the area around the light and on the body of the car where the light fits in the area for the gasket.. You can lightly grease the gasket on both sides before fitting the gasket and appling the light cluster to the body work. Do not over tighten the fixing nuts/bolts.

On very serious cases I have used silicon sealant in place of the grease. Be careful if you go this route because you may need to replace the light clusters and will need to be careful when taking them off not to do any damage to the paint work.

This solution has worked on Ford, Vauxhall and VW in the past. I know it is a pain having a boot full of water. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Ray
