Parking brake light is on

I just bought a used 2002 Chevy Blazer last week and I've noticed that while I'm driving the parking brake indicator will come on till I get to my destination. I know the brake isn't on but the light continues to stay on. Does anyone know why & if so, how do I fix it.

Check the ground wire from the ABS module/pump to the bracket. I cut them and run a longer wire to the body. The bracket can loose ground contacts also.

You may have play in the park brake pedal due to park brake cables needing servive/repair. If you pull up on the park brake pedal when the light is on... will it go out? Another reason for this light to come on is low brake fluid. Have the level checked

Parking Brake Light won't turn off, Cruise Control won't engage

Get down and look at parking brake assembly, If you see an electrical connector, unplug it, see if that helps? If it doesn't help or causes other issues just plug it back in.
Of course that isn't the proper fix. If something wrong with parking brake assembly, get it checked out.

Hi there; I've just started getting a "parking

The most basic check for this is - is your battery up to 100% efficiency. the handbrake module is notorious for faults with low voltage or voltage dips. Next is to check that the brake pads and cables are free and in good condition (pads not worn too far down) as these can cause fault indications. The fact that the park-brake still works and does not jam on or off would indicate that the major components are still working and may just need some attention and recalibrating. T o try a recalibration of the park brake - disconnect your battery for 10 Min's (make sure you have your radio code as this will be needed on reconnect) when battery reconnected follow the instructions on your driver display panel and see if this improves your problem. hope this helps - good luck.

My parking light wont shut off on my 2002 chevy tahoe

The brake light on most vehicles is not only an indicator that the parking brake is on, but that there is a problem with the system.

One possibility is that the e-brake cable might have developed **** and does not pull far enough to release the light. That might involve replacing the entire e-brake cable.

Keep us updated.

How do you adjust the parking brake on a 2002 Chevy Blazer

This is not a hard answer but I couldn't find it anywhere either so I figured it out.
On the drivers side of the vehicle between the door and the rear wheel, just under the vehicle (outside of the frame) you will see the cable. Locate the nut (it's on a lolong screw-the front of the screw is facing the front of the vehicle) About 6 inches toward the read of that screw attach a vise grip. Then rotate the nut with a 12mm box wrench and shorten the cable. It takes a lot of turns so after every 10 or so check the parking brake pedal. If you are going in the right direction it should stop further fromn the floor each time. The manual says adjust to the point the pedal travels 1/2 way to the floor.Tip- Lube the nut and screw before starting. The nut can be rusted on and may snap if you try too hard. Mine was nice and easy to turn and now the pedal stops 1/2 way to the floor.

Light switch assembly, I would start there. They do fail, and can fail like yours has.
