All you have to do is follow your radiator to it. From the front of the car into the dash.Your Heater Core is in your dash somewhere behind the intake manifold.

SOURCE: 1999 dodge durango heater core

It's a big job. Drain the coolant down, recover the freon in the ac system and disconnect the lines and heater hoses. Lower the steering column, remove the instrument panel assembly, remove the heater housing. Split the case halves on the housing and there you are. Usually around 500 to 700 dollars at a dealership.

SOURCE: how do i take the dash apart for a 2004 dodge neon

your attempting to try a job that you really shouldn't try,
the steering column will have to be dropped, the entire dash comes out of car,the AC needs vacumed down and disconnected, and that just gets you to the heater box assembly, your still another hour away from seeing a heater core .when we did these jobs at the dealers with all the tools available to us,it was a 12 hour job, then you have to recharge the AC yet

I have little heat

the best way to clean out a heater core of gunk on a dodge neon is unhook the heater core lines from the fire wall after draining all the old coolant and then run a water hose to the heater core, do the top line first and then do the botom one after about a min. while the coolant is out replace the thermoustat.

2000 Dodge Neon Radiator Swap

If rad/cooling system runs low on coolant, it will starve heater core of hot coolant that it needs to put out heat. Fill rad, with heater on, and cap off, to bleed out any air in system while you run it for a while with cap off, and see if that doesn't give you heat back.
