SOURCE: 2004 Freestar Limited minivan tailgait handle problem
I have had the same problem with my 2005. I don't know how but my 7 year old keeps pulling it off and I took pictures so I know how to do it from now on. It's easy to do without affecting any vital parts, i.e., the spring.
You take the back panel off consisting of 2-9mm screws and 2-philips head screws. Careful pulling the bottom portion off not to rip off any posts.
Once inside there is a grey bar that runs from one side of where the handle belongs to the other. This is the part that has the spring on it. Insert your handle all the way in and once there pry gently the grey bar until its prongs are in place. The spring is located just around the area that is flat coming off the grey bar and has a noticable spot for it. Also, off of the grey bar is a black plastic tab that is supposed to hold the bar from shifting back and forth, but gives easily. So you don't encounter the problem again you might try to gently bend it back to original shape.
SOURCE: I can't find the keyless entry code for my 2004 ford freestar
The code is on the fuse box under the dash near the hood release. On my van there are two bar codes on a sticker attached to the fuse box. Under the first bar code, on the right side is the 5 digit code (bring your glasses the numbers are really small). After you get this code, just search the internet and there are plenty of forums on programing the keyless remote and also adding your own unique number to the key pad entry.
Good Luck

I believe that one of your tires is low on air causing the pressure monitor to kick in. Check all your tires to make sure the inflated to the proper PSI which will be located on one of the door jambs
SOURCE: ford freestar 2004 the TRAC OFF message comes
I had the same problem and apparently fixed it by mistake. I replaced the cruise control deactivation switch under the master cylinder, hoping the cruise would be fixed. Some how with that the "trac off" light went out and gave me the ability to turn it on/off from the button again. The part was $30 from the local dealer and easy to replace. Before you run out to replace the switch check the connections on the old one. It plugs in upside down which may accumulate water from puddles and things causing connection issues ( a known problem ).
