My car recently starting sputtering and wouldn't accelerate properly for a few seconds after turning it on. Then the car would drive just fine. Today it took much longer to start up, with constant sputtering and jerking while trying to accelerate. In idle, it was shaking uncontrollably and upon acceleration acted like it would if it were running out of gas (but it's not). It took much longer to get it to accelerate properly, and after it did it was still inconsistent. what could this be?
Scan for codes stored ion the OBD computer. Many auto parts stores can do this for you at no charge. Based on the results - a complete tune up may be in order.
Good luck!
Testimonial: "Thanks, I figured out it was just a loose air intake valve. It wasn't put on properly when I did my last repair, but I got it back on there correctly and it fixed the problem!"
