I keep blowing indicator fuses on my 4runner. They work in park and in reverse while testing, once I put the car in drive the fuse blows. Any ideas what this may be caused from?

Please check the harness of the radio and wiring there could be short in the wiring which is causing this problem.......................

It was a wire for the tail lights that needed to be changed.

The most common reason for the EFI fuse to blow is the wiring is rubbed through somewhere in the engine wiring harness, this fuse supplies power to many EFI parts on the engine, always look for shorts where the most movement is, the engine is that place, most likely the next time you go down a really rough road the short may occure again, carry a few fuses just to be safe.

Yes there is a reverse light back up switch located on the side of the transmission it will be the only 2 wires going to the tranny. There might be a short in the switch itself or the power wire to switch might have a bare spot where it might be grounding out on the vehicle somewhere.

you got a grounded wire. check the wiring in the back of the radio if its custom radio i can almost gaurentee thats what it is. however electrical aint my best area. lemme know if i helpd any.

Hi Jason, when you say Indicator fuses, do you mean the lights the say P R N D 4 3 2 1 ?
Those lights are fed off a main fuse on my Tacoma. Which one are you blowing exactly.
