Hello, do you have any check engine lights on. Sounds like a maf sensor or tps. Vacuum line could be broken or come loose. Could be an O2 sensor. It could be multiple different things. The egr is a possibility but I have never had a car not idle because of an egr valve problem. But it could be the problem. Check for check engine light and see what codes come up

  • Nick Tumolo Apr 22, 2015

Ok so if your check engine light is on what is the code or codes that are displaying on the scanner.

Possibly a weak fuel pump, idle air control valve, vacuum leaks, or loose or damaged wiring in the ignition system. Check for vacuum leaks first. That's the only one that won't cost anything. Make sure all intake bolts are tight, and all hoses are connected properly and in good condition.

SOURCE: Car will on stay running for a few seconds before shutting off

It could be that your fuel filter could be clogged. You can check this by doing a fuel pressure test. After it dies, all the sediment drops off the filter so when you start it back up it does run for a small amount of time but then gets clogged up again after you start it again because it picks up the sediment again. You might also want to check your ignition control module. But my guess it's something to do withing your fuel system somewhere

SOURCE: 2003 chevy impala ls starts then stalls

I have replaced the radiator in my 2003 Chevrolet Impala LS. The car started running hot and shut down. Took it to a radiator shop and found a crack in the radiator. I have replaced 2 thermostats in the car already. I noticed water running from under my car today and it seems it was coming back out of the overflow. I am stumped as to what is going on with this car.

2003 Chevy Astro van once in a while when I started does not stay idle I have to hold the gas pedal little bit and go few minutes and goes back to normal can you help with that problem

The idle air control valve should keep the idle for you. Check to see if it is connected properly. If yes, remove the valve and inspect for damage. Clean the valve and the passages inside the throttle body, and try again.

Reset security code 2003 Chevy impaula

Instructions
    • 1 Attempt to start the car. If it does not start, or dies very quickly after it started, then leave the key in the ignition in the "ON" position and wait 10 minutes. Make sure the security light is flashing. After 10 minutes the security light will stop flashing and either turn off or stay on steadily. When it does, then turn the ignition off, wait 20 seconds and attempt to restart the car.
    • 2 Repeat this procedure three times in quick succession without removing the key from the ignition.
    • 3 Start the car following the third 10-minute waiting period. The car should start and stay on. If it stays running, then the codes have been relearned and the problem is solved. If the car still does not start then you may need to have all or part of the passlock system replaced

My 1968 chevy impala wont start unless i push gas pedal to the floor

it is your carburetor the fuel float is set to high and probably leaks. If it older than 10yrs old and has never been rebuilt . do that if you want to save yourself a bunch of time and little more money make the investment of a Brand New not rebuilt. if you get the carb manufactor specs matched to your motor , Out of the box, it will be very close to being on the money .

2003 chevy truck wont stay started. Put a new bat in and it ran for about 5 miles and dead. Waited a few seconds and drove few feet and dead. It will start and sit and idle fine until you push on gas...

Start with the simple, if the fuel filter has not been replaced. There may be a good chance that the filter may have gotten to the end of it's life and needs to be replaced. The fuel filter should be replaced 15,000 miles or one a year.

Good luck and keep me posted.
