Make sure your pats key is clean. Sometimes the chip gets dirty. Also try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. This will reset the system...
Sounds like a security system problem.Has the security light been blinking? If you have another key that is not worn as much as the one you are using and try it and see if it will start.
Leave the key in the run position until the security light stops blinking. This should take 10 minutes. Then turn the key off, wait 5 seconds and try to start it. The security light should be blinking again. Leave the key on again for 10 minutes. Repeat this 3 times. After the third time on the the next start it should start and run fine. This will reprogram your theft system.
TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO THE ON POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES WITH ENGINE OFF.UNTIL SECURITY TURNS ITSELF OFF.THEN TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH WAIT 5 SECONDS.THEN START THE ENGINE.IF SECURITY STILL ON DEALERSHIP HAS TO FIX.
A problem like this u would need all the issues before diagnosis. It may have something to do w the air intake temp sensor, coolant sensor, vacuum leak, the temp may timing may affect spark timing etc. Your best bet would be is to get it to an auto tech u trust to scan & ck the computer readings, emissions, & general running condition. Wish I had the specs to help further. Good Luck
That thing about the lights flashing, think about it. that happens only when you lock or unlock the car with remote to set and off-set the security system. Makes sense that your security system is in lock-out mode so nothing works, right?. Disable or reset your security system and you'll be fine.
Different cars have different methods to reset. If you have the owners manual it may say in there. If not, try leaving the ignition in the on position for as much as 10 minutes. When the security light stops flashing it should start. This is generally a recurring problem once it starts. Lots of "stuff" on the internet about how to bypass etc. but some things can cause problems. My son's car has this problem. We have cleaned the ignition by putting WD40 on the key and inserting it and it seems to help by reducing the problem.
Mine has the same problem. If you have had to turn your iginition to reset the security system ever, after about the 10th time you've done it the light will stay on. You can take it to a dealer and have them deactivate the light if you wish. The car runs fine . My gauges work but if the light bothers you it will cost about $40 at the dealer to turn off.
