SOURCE: valve timing check

Chain drive. Unless the engine's been apart, why would the cam/valve timing change?
Valve clearances are another matter, and unless you want to remove the camshafts, get a mechanic who has the proper Suzuki tool to do them for you. You can measure the clearances, but the shims are between the cam lobe and the valve bucket, and the special tool holds the bucket down whilst changing to a thicker or thinner shim.

My 2006 Suzuki Swift just started running really rough all of a sudden.Starts ok and runs but rough & little less power.Could it b timing belt..it has done 150,000 kms

the belt should have been changed at 100.000 kms
At this point I would be looking at faulty injectors as a reason for the rough and less power
I would say that changing the belt now along with idler pulleys , hydraulic adjuster and cam and crank seals will save you big time as you are way overdue if it hasn't been done before

5-speed manual. Why no power from the ignition to the motor?

In a Suzuki of that age (assuming you have the OHC engine), the most likely culprit is a broken timing belt.

Timing chain or belt in a 2004 suzuki swift 1.3L

Diesel or GASoline, they offered 2 engines 1.3L
google answers that.
one way to find this (besides a goggle search (worked for me 100x)
besides a real FSM or alldata.com look in 1min. flat. is.....
is to learn which of the 56 Suz engines you have.
the WIKI says, its a M13A
armed with that key fact, you can find out anything on that engine.
one way is to read the GATES belt page, see if they sell a belt.
looks like chain
