2000 corvette convertable can't open trunk with dead battery

try to reach up under the front of the car with your arm and try to locate the latch with the hood release cable attached to it. Use your fingers or plyers to manipulate the latch to release-pull on the cable. You may have to remove the grill to access it.

Pretty common C5 problem. This is what I do.

Roll the windows up, use the trunk release inside the car on the dash. Once you close the driver's door the air pressure will pop the trunk up about 1/2" which is enough for you to get your fingers underneath.

If your battery is dead, and you don't have the key, you are not gonna get the trunk open. However, if the car is unlocked, and you have another vehicle to power the car by jumper cables, you may be able to use the button inside to open the trunk. Otherwise, you'll need to install a new battery.

Hello. If you are still locked out, I think I can help you. Above the rear license plate is a keyhole, if you have the key you can unlock your trunk/hatch from there. Then look for the manual door release lever on the driver's side above the wheel hump.

2000 jag trunk locked dead battery-use MASTER KEY ONLY to open trunk location is above rear lic plate looks like hex screw ---the valet key will not open trunk-you cannot go thru back seat thr release for them are in the trunk-hope this helps someone
