This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY? This is a common problem worth looking into.

SOURCE: Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 2003 oldsmobile alero?

There are 2 fuel lines connecting to the fuel injector rail. The larger line is the pressure line and the smaller line is the return line. The smaller line attaches to the fuel pressure regulator. You will notice that the regulator also has a vacuum line attached to it. If you are planning on changing it your self, let me know. There is a specific way to change it for safety reasons.
Let me know.

SOURCE: We need to reset the computer on a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero

HI there if the scan tool you are using will not reprogram the theft module the try the 10 min relearn

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
  3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
  5. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
  6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password.
  7. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles

SOURCE: 1999 oldsmobile alero

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero and my car was running rough and stalling. Also when the car was shifting, it was making a "thud" sound. My service engine light was on, so I took it to Autozone to run their diagnostic tool. It came back with code P0108 and they advised me to check my vacuum hoses as a possible solution. I looked and found that my air hose running from my throttle body to my map sensor was disconnected. I reconnected the hose and the engine ran normally and didn't make any "thud" sound when shifting. My car is back to normal. So check your hoses. If its still running rough, you may need to replace your map sensor.

The car will not start after a hard rain.

if the car was driven in the rain the fender splah guards are missing if it was not driven you have old plug wires or on other systems bad spark plug boots that are leaking + to- and the moisture in the air causes this to happen more because the spark is jumping instead of firing the plugs so you just keep cranking the engine but it won't turn over then after it dries out the car will start up but the engine might shake a little or run rough

2003 oldsmobile alero turns but will not start

Sounds like the computer is dead, or not getting a signal from the crank sensor.
Can you check the crank sensor with a meter, or use a scanner to check data input to the computer ?

Oldsmobile alero won't start

if you have good cranking power then probably not the battery the next thing to check would be to see if you have spark.
