Engine problem

Probably a head gasket problem, once again. It's burning the coolant off the plug . To make sure ,use a "block tester" from NAPA ,it is a liquid that changes color with the presence of exhaust gas in the coolant.

I change spark plugs and wire because the car was idle was high. It was running fine before we change the plugs and wires just high idle. But now it run ruff, pops and back fires and you have to punch the...

sounds like you have the firing order off ! re- trace your wires from coil packs to plugs, you have one or several mixed up, the coil packs are numbered, and you wil have 135 on one bank and 246 on the other, If I'm not mistaken 135 are closest to the radiator, you can tell by seeing which head is the farthest forward towards pass side of car and that is Bank 1 which will have 135 cylinders.

Ruff idle 2001 dodge stratus. changed plugs and wires and still has idle issue. throws a lean burn code bank 1 and 2. have been told it may be the cat converter?

TRY and idle your car up alittle to see if problem goes away if not then look into replacing your catolitic convertor.

2000 grand cherokee #7 Cylinder not fireing

replace the coil pack... to confirm this pull spark plug leads off the coil pack one at a time.... note whether the idle changes. the spark will actually arc and you can hear it. if one of the plugs does not have this arcing... the coil pack is at fault.

Please take a moment to rate this solution.. thanks
