SOURCE: Where is the cam shaft sensor located on a 8.1
On the drivers side, behind the cylinder head. It will be rough to get to from the top, I've never tried it like that, but have seen some guys do it.
If you reach back there way down to where the head bolts to the block you will feel it. It is held in by a 10mm headed bolt that is bolted to the back of the cylinder head. The fuel lines are going to be in your way, you are going to have to work around them.
SOURCE: crank shaft sensor? is this the same as cam shaft
no each one has its own job,
crank sensor is counting crank shaft rpms
cam sensor is counting cam shaft rpms
is there any lights coming on just as this is happening?
i think you should have the fuel pressure checked when it dies out,you need at least 50psi at fuel rail

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Do you know if you have compression or not? You could have bad valves/pistons causing the no start. Also, have you thought about the ECU being fried? If it was, it would also cause this issue. Do you know if the spark was solid or weak? I am also wondering if you have/had a check engine light on? What error codes, if any, did you have? Is it still on? Thanks.
